As fun as it sounds, thoe following quote from the manufacturer's (alpine coaster) site is a little creepy:

" Practically no digging and earthwork required, no foundations. Supports anchored to the ground with long spike nails. "

Yikes!

i see that there are 720 views yet not very many posts.

WHAT ARE YOUR IDEAS PUBLIC?
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO SEE SOMETHING YOU MIGHT LIKE TO SEE BUILT, ACTUALLY DONE!!!

This is interresting i was suggested to put in a flying island.

What does the public think?

No aerial rides can be installed over 100ft. The Smoketon Airport is about 3 miles away. FAA rules. Of course if you worked in the industry you would know that.
I think a mad mouse type coaster would also be suitable. As for the upgrade to family park, it is a must. I am disappointed to see that the park has just spent money to get a new *jingle* enforcing it as a kid park. Sky Princess is not a kiddie coaster, don't advertise it as such.

I don't like the alpinecoaster idea. I don't like the looks of the alpine coaster, it just screams carnival and would really take away from the beautiful atmosphere of DW IMO. Perhaps a Rock-n-tug in the future and I like the interactive dark ride idea with maybe a princess and castle theme to coincide with the DW characters. Other than that, and assuming there is a severe budget, I also think that a small steel coaster like a Galaxi or Jet Star type coaster would be a great addition if placed correctly. Too many are put on a parking lot or in a vacant field, if presented nicely, it would really create a much more family friendly atmosphere making it enjoyable for customers, not just the consumers.

Edit: Oh, and heaven knows that there are plenty of SBNO wood coasters out there that many people are trying to save. It could be an ongoing project, but buying one for next to nothing (Little A-merrick-a purchased an old unused coaster for $9,000 this year) and refurbishing it with a little more cash would certainly be an economically friendly decision. Mildly amused since 2003.
Hey AJ, what do you know??? It's not like you ever worked for HERCO or at DW!!
AJ knows his stuff. He might not have worked for HERCO but knows whats going on in the industry.

I still think a dark ride for Dutch Wonderland and or Hersheypark would be the perfect addition for either park. Both parks are lacking a dark ride. Hershey has been missing one for several decades now and would be an awsome addition. Please just don't make it where you need to shoot the candy characters though! That would be lame.

CPunk - Hersheypark has the Factory tour...they probably see that as their dark ride. But I agree with you anyway.

I guess that could be a dark ride. Your on a track and it's somewhat dark.

I want somthing like Knoebels Haunted Mansion or an interactive shoot em up dark ride like at SF St Louis in a boat or Lake Compounce. Just so you don't have to shoot candy bars. That would just be creepy.
