Dueling Dragons Question

My wife and I rode Dueling Dragons for the first time last weekend and I was wondering something. I was unable to determine all the differant types of inversions. I know that there is a loop, a zero-g roll, and a cobra roll, but I didn't understand the others. Is there anyone who can tell me about the others? Thanks!

Did I mention, that I like coasters...

Red Dragon:

-Loop

-Loopscrew (Inclined Immelman)

-Corkscrew

-Corkcrew

-Immelman

Ice Dragon:

-Loop

-Cobra Roll (2 inversions)

-Corkscrew

-Zero G Roll

FIRE

Immelman w/helix

Vertical Loop

Interlocking Corkscrews

Flatspin(fancy word for corkscrew)

ICE

Zero-G roll

Cobra Roll(2 inversions)

Vertical Loop

Interlocking corkscrews

I love the wrap around Immelman on fire, probably one the most intense, creative and disorienting inversion I have been on.

The world's a roller coaster and I am not strapped in, maybe I should hold with care, But My hands are busy in the air- Incubus

I agree with you 100% sethman.  That is the weirdest immelman I've ever been on.

For me, Fire feels more like I imagine Dragon flight to be, with more airtime and better pacing between elements.  Ice is also a great ride, but the inversions seem more disorienting.  This is PURELY subjective, and I think IOA did great work providing two very different ride experiences with these two.  Now, a woodie (pref. CCI) and the rumored Intamin coaster, and we'll be ALL set.

Since I am the buzz's resident theming addict, I'll add my suggestion for DD.  I want to put a "burning" thatch hut in the bottom of the pit, as well as a horse-drawn carriage, and some frozen buildings....show where Blizzrock and Pyrrock have done their damage.

Yeah rollergatorwoodie (the first :)), a burned out building would be cool. Maybe they could re-theme that maintainence shed that you see from the top of the lifts. I've always felt that just blew the whole themed queue bit.

BTW: What happend? Illinois (Big Ten) is in the BCS. Florida (SEC) hmmm....

2hostyl, after a mile-long queue, I gotta agree - keep up the theming throughout the ride.  As for football: I think the team (ours, not yours) may have listened to everyone telling them how great they were.  Coming off the big win over FSU, Vegas giving an 18 point spread, etc.  18?  I am a DIE-HARD Gator, but I said that was ridiculous when I heard it, totally disrespecting the Vols...The first 14 went up quick, then the defense proves unable to stop the run.  Taking all those 3's will always bite you in the butt in a high-scoring game, and the head ball coach said as much in the postgame...Maybe in retrospect, theming requires a flaming Gator head, j/k.  We MAY still sneak into a BCS bowl following Saturdays "other" games, but losing to Fulmer at home....unacceptable!

The key to the Volunteers victory, was the vols offensive line manhandled the defensive line of florida, the more physical team ended up winning the game. Lot of crazy upsets happened on saturday but the vols beating the gators was something I was expecting. Florida and everyone else seemed too cocky for their own good. Quite a interesting finish to an unpredictable college football season!

Watch out, here come the Buffaloes! :)

Oh, yeah I love Fire Dragon. Immelmans are cool.

GO CU! Big 12 Champs!

I don't understand why they made that line so long. If it was ever full, I don't want to know how long that would take. The castle is really cool, but once you've been through it a few times, it just takes up time.
This is a roller coaster forum.

Oh wow, I didn't figure that out, smart ass. Did you ever stop to think CU is ranked number 4? By the way, there were several posts ahead of mine that were somewhat non-coaster related. Check 'em out.

mea culpa, mamba...PT300, there's more football stuff on the SFoG thread.  Amusement industry is a natural match for athletics both professional and collegiate - family-oriented stuff, ya know!  Can't figure out why the parks haven't figured this out yet...  Congrats on CU - if we get lucky and Vols win (yuck!) we may get Orange Bowl.

SFGA2001, the reason the queue is SO long is they underestimated GREATLY the people-eating capacity of two B&Ms.  Be sure to use the re-entry door!  Also, they've got GREAT rides throughout the park, so the "crowd" is usually well dispersed ('cept for Spidey).  I wanna theme rides like IOA - done some research, gotta work on my resume some tonite...

I don't see why every time a Colorado football team wins a big game people in Colorado break out in a riot.  Why can you just win gracefully?  I mean Colorado beat Nebraska almost two weeks ago and people still won't give it a rest.
Yeah, but did you see HOW they beat Nebraska? This was supposed to be one of the top teams in the nation and the Cornhuskers got the S-H beat out of them. It wasnt even as close as the score let on!

Fortunately, *MY* team (The Illini) have already secured a BCS bid and all signs point to them going to the Sugar. Now I plan on following the team to Naw'lins so that just leaves one question? Is Jazzland open on Sunday, Dec. 30th?

--Illinois in the Sugar, Bourbon St. Daiquiris, and MegaZeph. Good Business!

I'm surprised that the CU fans didn't murder someone down there!  Maybe they did and nobody knows it yet;)
In the line for dueling dragons, I kept walking into walls and bumping into corners. There was maybe 5,000 people there, so it was very uncrowded, and noone to follow. The ride could defenitly be themed.

With the ride running at full capacity, the entire thing filled up should not take more than an hour.  Pretty awsome, huh?
Also, there is a door on both exit ramps that takes you right back into the station.  I feel sorry for anyone that went all the way through the castle again for re-reides! Ouch!

Kicking screamin' Gucci little siggy.

Yes I relize that Nebraska was beat by alot.  But I am from Nebraska and Colorado fans could have been a little more respectful.  I had friends who when to the game and they said that the Colorado fans were horrible. Just win a little more gracefully.
