Dueling Dragons At IOA

Sunday, January 19, 2003 1:25 PM
I made a visit to Islands of Adventure today. I basically go to IOA four times a week, mainly for a ride on the HULK, Dr. Doom, Spiderman, and the Dueling Dragons. Today, as I was entering the queue for the Dueling Dragons, I stopped to speak with the line employee and asked: "Are they refurbishing the Ice Dragon?". He told me that "Refurbishments on the Dueling Dragons have not started yet. The Ice Dragon is down because of mechanical failure that occured on January 3rd." I didn't hear anything about a mechanical failure before today. Does anyone know about this? I live 25 minutes from IOA and I don't know about this.

Yeah, I was down there yesterday and I was really pissed off that Ice Dragon wasn't up. I told the person that I had come from California (even though I live in Florida, haha) and that I wanted a partial refund. She was very nice about the whole ordeal and said that she couldn't give me my money back, but I was welcome to a free ticket. Yes! I scored big time with that one :) ;) ;) ;) :) :) !!

That's great Son of a Preacher Man. However, the question that I need answered is: Is the Ice Dragon down for mechanical failure or refurbishing? Stay on track please!

She just told me that the ride was not guarantteed to be operating, but was nice and gave me a free pass. My guess is that it was down for mechanical stuff because usually they have the "Refurbishing" sign up at the ride entrance. Please don't hate me.

I went to IOA on 1-18 both Ice and Fire were working, however I only rode each side once, due to the long line. They were only running one train on each side, which kinda sucked. Also, I went to busch gardens the next day and Montu only had one train running....weird
