Dubailand

Saw this link on another site, looks very ambitious!:

http://www.angelfire.com/ok5/dxbland/

But I'm extrememly curious about the quad loop coaster at the proposed Arabian Legends Theme Park, is it even possible? (tried to do a direct link to the pic, but the site wont allow. Just click on Arabian Legends Park and it's the 3rd pic from the left).

I can't imagine the amount of force and speed it will require to clear all 4 loops, I would think the g's during the first loops would probably be beyond human endurance. For such a huge and expensive project, I'm assuming the park model and coaster layout is pretty close to accurate, so they do plan on building this if the project gets greenlighted. Anyone have any ideas on how much speed it would require to clear a Dive Loop, two verticle, and an Immelman, all in a row? And what kind of g's it would produce? Looks amazing!

The official site http://www.dubailand.ae shows a Dubai Jurrassic Park and a Hollywood action thriller being shot in Dubai, so maybe it's an exaggeration.

I hate to deviate so early in a thread, but Dubai threads don't come up often. Does anybody know the status of a Disko at Dubai's Wonderland? I read that it has arrived in pieces in Nov. (Edit:sp) *** Edited 1/11/2005 11:46:31 PM UTC by LaMarcus***

That 4 looper looks cool, going through the sphinx like that.

It looks like if this comes to fruition, it could be profitable, because I know a lot of people who have been, know people who have been, or who want to go to dubai, but I don't know

Also, it looks like they are getting a Pax looking ride, and an Arrow Fishhook?!? naw, couldn't be. ;)

Well this picture pretty much gives away the faithfulness of the model. The first turn on that wooden coaster will be more jarring than anything on Son of Beast.

Man, for a second I thought this topic was about a new park called "Dubya-land" ;)

Jan: that's what i was thinking. would be an interesting theme park though.
Dubya-Land. Where Dollywood meets Machine Guns!
y'all come back now, or we'll hunt you down and kill ya!

A new park with horrible financial guidance, complete disregard for anything beyond their own views, "beneficial" improvements that actually just don't work right and cause more headaches, a history of getting into bad projects that are impossible to get out of, and a very low approval rating from many who consider themselves "learn-ed" in the ways of amusement parks?

Geez, who needs Dubya-Land? We already got Six Flags ...

Copy and paste the links.

Turbo, looks more like S:TE than a fishhook to me. There's no hook on it from what I can see. It appears to launch out of the building.

I'm most intrigued by the halfpipe looking ride with the loop. Now that would be a fun ride. But looking at the model I have no idea how it would work.

Overall Dubai is one place where a super expensive park could be built from scratch. They have the world's only 7 star hotel and several developments like the palm tree shaped island that are supposedly making Dubai a tourist destination for the super rich. Although I think more Europeans will venture there than Americans.

Impulsive: well said. lol
But let's look at the bigger picture.
Horrible financial guidance. Depends on how you look at it. From their viewpoint, it's sound financial guidance. Sound, as in the speed of. Financial, as in, this here missle company will be beyond financially sound. guidance, well, it works for our overpriced missle.
but i could see: Cruise Missle! the Ultimate Launch coaster!
Dubya, the ride: a dark ride that takes you through the heart of Bagdad, and pretty much destroys it at the same time. could even be in 4d, the peeps get sprayed w/red food coloring...
