I beleive on Drop Zone, those White strips are Magnetic Breaking. I was told that, not sure if its true though. Good idea though.
Do gyro-drops spin while going down, or just when going up?

drop zone spins only while goin up. It would have to spin very fast on the way down. Since you are dropping at a fast speed. I mean the drop on Drop Zone only lasts 4 seconds.

Isn't the rate of spinning different then the rate of descent/ascent? I was under the impression that it spun by control of the mechanism that pulled it up the tower?
I think that would be cool to spin while dropping. Of course you couldn't do one full rotation because of the g-forces, but you could at least spin partly around.
