Drop Time at Lake Compounce

Lakecompounce.com has a brief announcement for Drop Time, the new for 2004, 185 foot drop tower. It looks like it will be another great year at The Lake and something fun to look forward to.
Actually it's called Down Time.

Oops! My mistake. I can't say that I really like the name though, so perhaps I subconsciously renamed it when I posted, lol. Down Time sounds like it will be broken a lot, and that's not a good image to convey, is it?

It's a fine name, I'm sure the gp doesn't know that's what it also means. They will think it's a good name.

I'm curious to see where they are going to build it. It could go in a lot of places, but I'd like to see it go next to the rapids where the train station is down on the other side of the lake.

According to Screamscape, the whole thing is already built!

Kid of Steel, Down Time is located where the Music Express was, and Music Express is being relocated and refurbished. I have heard conflicting reports though about Music Express' new location. Some say it will be near the rapids, but another says it will be next to the bumper cars.
So the real question is not where down time(hehe) will be located , but Musik Express.

*just summarizing*

If you check out the new logo the name makes perfect sense. And yes, the ride is already constructed.

This truly is right up the park's alley.

Seems like since it has a name like that Intamin should build it!
That's a really pointless logo. :)

You know what's funny about that picture on Lake Compounce's homepage... is that the photo that they used is the EXACT same photo as this (Marineland's Sky Screamer)... minus the photoshopping they did with the color scheme, logo & background!!

Good ol' S&S...

At 185' it's fairly large too. Should be a pretty great ride. Just hope the name doesn't reflect the operations of the ride. Then again, in most cases S&S tower attractions tend to be among the most reliable attractions at a park, so I'm assuming that won't be a problem.

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

Wait a sec! In that marine land thing it says that the tower is going to be 450 feet! Thats def. a record, isnt it? Does onyone know the builder? Does S&S even have a model that goes 450 feet. Guys, 450 feet! I cant get over in....thats enourmous! 2x Dominator at DP, 150+ Drop Zone at Paramount. 450 FEET! wow.
Marineland is using the topography to their, uh, literary advantage. It's not really 450' tall.

Hot stuff.

Wait a sec. If you look at the S&S tower ride at Marine Land, you can see that the seats are diffrent. I always thought that the cars where diffrent during the earlie years of the S&S towers because I saw it on TV, and the seats look more like saddles of a horse.

Rather then falt seats like on all of the towers as of now. The picture listed above conforms it. Anyone have any more pictures of the older model cars that rode the towers?

Do you really think that picture on the Marineland tower is really the Marineland ride??
