Well, talking with some inside sources. I heard that some of the big-wigs over at Six Flags Darien Lake were over visiting Six Flags New England a couple weeks ago. They apparently were looking at the Huss Fly Away ride and appeared very interested in that.
Now for me... this is what I would like to see:
1) Pool by Darien Square: REMOVED.
2) Batting Cages: REMOVED.
3) Pavillions by Elk Lake: MOVED or REMOVED.
4) Camping area behind Go-Karts & Twister: REMOVED.
5) Cascade Canyon & 'Cuda Falls: RELOCATED by the Crocadile Isle
With those areas cleared... I see a lot of potential for expansion. For the pool and batting cages, a flat ride can definately fit in those two places... with decent themeing at that!
With the pavillions moved or removed, and the area past the gates by Superman, I see a very well themed Metropolis area being established for more rides
With the waterslides moved across to Crocadile Isle, I see either a couple flat rides, Shoot-the-Chutes, or even (need I say it) a rollercoaster).
Finally, with the small camping area removed (let's face it, Darien Lake can do without a couple hundred sites out of 2000!), they can set up a whole new themed area such as Gotham City since it is near the Batman show.
MY PREDICTION FOR 2002
I definately see the water park expansion happening, with a shoot-the-chutes ride (this was planned for 2001 originally), but I also see either a couple flat rides, or a new coaster. Where, I don't know... but if they take my advise... there'll be plenty of room!!!!
