Dreamworld announces new thrill ride

Posted | Contributed by auscoasterman

Dreamworld recently officially announced their new 2004 addition. Swinging up to 90ft in the sky at angles of 120ยบ, "The Claw" will be the third of its kind in the world and the first in the Southern Hemisphere. It will be the same size as Maelstrom at Drayton Manor in the United Kingdom. The ride is set to open around September 18, to coincide with the Australian spring holiday period. See Roller-Coaster.com.au for the latest construction update, showing the ride near completion.

(someone guessed HersheyPark didn't copyright their ride of the same name)

Tell me 'bout it.

American parks always trademark their ride names and logos in Australia--you know, to avoid confusion!

Two 'Claws' on one planet?
Heads...will...ROLL.

Not to mention all those rides called "Enterprise" "Comet" "Thunderbolt" "Blue Streak" etc. etc. etc... quite confusing.

I'm already confused!
I actually saw the supports for this ride go up in Dreamworld on July 19th. I was wondering what they were for. They delivered them in the morning and had them standing by 2 pm.
