Dragon Mountain

Is there any one here who rode Dragon Mountian?
I thought it is one of the best coasters. The only bad thing it that there 3 areas of trims and the trim ALMOSt stop you. But it is a great ride.
I rode it back in 88 or 89.I thought it was a pretty fun ride.My exgirlfreind and I mustve rode it about 10 times straight without getting off the ride. There was no one in the queie line so the ride opps just let it roll.
I was looking at the stats of this coaster. If the stats are true why would you have a 186ft hill and the train only goes 30mph? It just doesnt seem right. Are you sure that the height of this coaster is correct? I never heard of a coaster that tall back in 1983. You mention the trim brakes so are they installed on the descent of the hill?
It goes up 186 foot lift without going above 6 feet off the ground. This is done by going up the side of the mountain but on the side of the mountain were the drop is the ground is only about 80 feet down. So the drop is only about 50-60 feet.
There is no trims on the drops.
O.K. That makes sense.
Where is this coaster? I have never heard of it.
Its in Ontario Canada,at Marine World Niagra Falls.
I have ridden it and i thought that it was a pretty good ride
it's a great coaster, but the park is terrible! you have to walk a mile to get from ride to ride!
I remember riding it the first year it opened (I'm thinking 1983?) I remember how it just hugged the hills, and the entrance via the dragon's mouth. Does anyone know who the manufacture is? I want to say Arrow, but I'm not that sure.

I belive it is an Arrow But I could be wrong I remeber in Class a couple years ago there was a poster from the Goverment of Ontario stating it was the worlds largest steel coaster which of coarse is faulse it was once the largest i do know that though. But that park is horrible There is so much space and they never add any rides now cause they barley make any money.
Arrow-Huss design, 1983.

Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill.

It is the coaster covering the most land (30 acres). The track is not that long but if you imagine it as a square, the area of the square is 30 acres.

Dragon Mountain truly defines the "terrain" coaster. The perfect example. In the few rides I've gotten, I loved it. Of course, that was a good 7 or 8 years ago, so I don't remember the exact layout. I recall it being smooth, long and impressive to look at.

actually it was on the list for longest steel coaster in north america or something for a long time
It seemed a lot faster than 30 mph to me. I rode it sans the trims and it was "bookin"
I just wish they'd finish that darn volcano! :) The trains are perhaps my favorite Arrow trains. Love that front car.

Model coasters and rides

ive been interested in this coaster for quite a while, does anyone know where theres a POV?

It may be the longest lasting coaster because it goes so slowly. It takes almost 2 minutes to go up the lift hill. It is a very tame coaster with long stretches of flat track. It is far more frightening when you get attacked by the deer. It is unfortunate that Marineland has not used their land better. The park seems to cover a lot of ground but most of that is empty.
