That park has been in doubt ever since it was first drafted because the locals said all these gothic people will come to the Dracula Park and destroy all the landmark stuff near it.

Dutch Coastin' :: European coasters, thrills and theming!
I was recently in Romania and took a look at the proposed site of the park.
Fact is, that the ministry of tourism WANTS this park to boost tourism in Romania.
Its a surprisingly beautiful country with breathtaking architecture and friendly people. Sadly the majority of people is still very, very poor. And you can sense an echo of communism all around.
But Romania sees itself to be an up and coming country, they have to avoid corruption and ruthless europeans who flock into the country with an "lets buy it"- ethic.
Anyway, the park faced extreme opposition, so the government is about to decide to build the park somewhere else. Apart from the critiziced location in Transilvania, they consider to build the park either near the capital Bucharest or on the coast of the black sea.
This is somehow ridiculous: Usually you have the government against you, if you want to buiild a theme park. In this case the government pushes the idea to build the park at all costs.
The park wont be too amazing anyway, but in the old location in original Transylvania, it woul have been quite an experience! The buildings and feel of the area is perfect Disney! The architecture is so astounding that tourists from all over the world would flock to Romania, if they just knew it was a place to spend a holiday (which by todays standards is still something they have to work on.)
Time will tell.
