Drachen Fire sold to Kings Dominion???

Hey all...

Was wondering if anyone could help me confirm a rumor about Paramount's Kings Dominion in VA buying the former Drachen Fire coaster from Busch Gardens Williamsburg?? I saw another 'busch' fansite that spoke of this rumor.

Also just to let you know...as of today (4/27/02) the old loading station and coaster staging area from Drachen Fire are still intact, but with everything else cleared out and mulched over (classic BGW style) so wonder if that area will be reopening as something in the next couple of years.

Thanks!!!

Robbie B.

I heard that it followed the way of the Windjammer. It was sold as scrap.

Heard.... it was a fact that it went the way of Windjammer. It was torn down in the Windjammer fashion... ie: it was eaten away... using construction equipment, it was just completely dismantled in a horrid fashion where even if you wanted to put it back up, you couldn't!!

Right now, it's probably boiling in some big hot pot of liquidy metal.

Yea, I don't believe it, I mean why would PKD buy a coaster like that anyway

There's no way on god's green earth that PKD would buy that ride, after all they've already got an arrow looper(and a fine one at that) so why would they want another one?Let's face it folks DF is gone and it isn't coming back except if it's steel were recycled into a new and better coaster.
Its scrap metal. End of story.
