I do not know the answer to your question. But while on the subject of Drachen Fire, my non coaster enthusiast friend went to BGW two weekends ago and said that Drachen Fire was on the park map. Can anyone back this up?
well I've never ridden DF, but I assume that it's for the employees to walk on.

Drachen Fire is definitely not on the park map. In fact if you weren't in the know about the coaster, finding it or trying to get a look at it would be difficult. Even as the train passes right by it not a word is mentioned about it. MF can you be more specific about the location, when you say desent, are you referring to the drop or the evac walkway on the lift hill. I don't know of anything on the lift hill, the mess of sticks on the wraparound corkscrew (the element in the middle of the first drop) is an eagles nest. Unfortunately, the last time I was there it appeared that either the eagle was starting a new nest or one of his buddies came to visit, because a smaller mass of sticks was forming at the peak of the lift hill. I was hoping that the pyrotechnics that were shot from the coaster during the July 4th show would have scared the birds off, hopefully some new trains running the circuit will next season.
I think what MF means is the stairs going along the side. Its common on most coasters as it provides stairs incase of a walkdown

no-there is a grate in the middle of the track most of the way down to the inversion, kinda like chain-link fence

I think Millennium Force is talking about that. From that picture, it looks like steps leading up to the inversion on the drop. I'd guess it was for mantainence to get farther down the track than just the top of the lift hill.

Hey, SFGAm management, can I buy a couple cages of Sky Whirl?

I am almost certain it serves as a walkway.

I think that Loch Ness has one too, and it could just be a Busch thing.

its a walkway.  a lot of Arrow coasters have this.  Demon @ SFGAm for example.  I believe that its for inspection purposes.

Perhaps its too steep to walk, but not steep enough to climb down?

Sheesh, just one month after I change my member name from Millennium Force, someone steals it!
