Dr. Dooms Line

I was just wondering, with Islands of Adventure excellent theming what is the themeing for Dr. Dooms Freefall line. How does it look, does it fit the parks themeing expectations, is there anything special about. I will apreciate anything, pictures would be nice too!!

The line is sortof like that of Incredible Hulk in the fact that it gives a sort of futuristic feel.  There are tv's that play this story of a land where everyone is happy(called Latvaria maybe?).  Then you go into each of the doom chambers and you sit down in a seat as Doctor Doom tries to suck the fear from the very marrow of your bone(and make sure that you keep your head down at all times so he doesn't miss a drop:))  Sorry, I have only been through the queue once(others times I have a room key) so I don't really remember much.  I would say that the theming is comprable to the Hulks and the line is somewhat lengthy.  I like the music that they play right before you get launched though, it gives a really eerie feeling.(sort of;))

Father Lucifer, you never looked so sane. You did always did prefer the drizzle to the rain

They did a fantastic job on Dr. Doom.  The line is lengthly and I imagine that it does get long.  The giant open room is very cool.  They have a video is very similar to a brainwashing film.  Very amusing and passes the time efficently.(SP?)  Like said before, the line is dark and comes straight out of the comic book.  Dr. Doom is my favorite of all the S&S Power Shots.

I've been through their line several times, but as a regular, I gotta tell you to use the single-riders line for Dr Doom anytime.  I guess it's the one "secret" I have on IOA, and unlike Hulk, it's always open (since it's the same door as baby swap)...don't tell, though!

P.S.  Last time we were at IOA, we got a WALK-ON for Spidey...just gotta go at the right times...

Rollergator,

Last time I was at IOA I got a walk-on for spidey and it was so empty that the ride-op let me, my wife, my mother, and brother have a car to ourselves.

In 5 trips to IOA, I've never waited more than 5 minutes for Dr. Doom. I couldn't even tell you what the queue looks like.

Hey Gator,  I must say I picked the right time to hit FL.  No lines and multiple rides at all three parks I visited.  WA. BGT and IOA.   Rode Spidy about 20 times and DD probably 30 :)
Chuck, who was glad to meet you for a short at WA.

RCmuzikGuY, pick any week between now and Memorial Day, AVOID Spring Break, and you'll have the state to yourself...pretty much.

Or if you stay at one of there resorts you just show the attendant at the front of the line your room key and they send you right to the front of the line. With that privilage it doesnt matter what time of the year you go.
In my opinion the theming for Doom is the best I've ever seen.  For any ride. Period. Believe it or not, the wife and I will actually go out of our way to spend time in the DDFF queue, to the point of letting others pass us - even though, as on-site guests, we could skip the whole queue if we wanted.

Why?  The "cartoons" they play in line.  While providing the "story" for the ride, as well as rules/safety information, they are brilliant.  Subversive, even, and that's not something you EVER see at a corporate theme park.  They're done in the style of Eastern European Cold War propaganda films, exhorting you to "give all for the state" by complying with Dr. Doom's evil plans for world domination, and contain inspired lines such as "He will build a peace-keeping weapon so powerful it will destroy all his enemies".  Genius.

Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill.

I know its old but the whole experience they created for Indiana Jones at Disney is wonderful and the epitomy of Disney.  Every detail of that ride is so refined and complete, its a truly amazing experience and I hope everyone gets to ride it.  Waiting in line was actually kinda fun.
