Double Loop gets new brakes!

While on Villain, I looked over and saw new brakes on Double Loop. Not fin brakes, but magnetic brakes. They are where the old brakes are, but there are 2 remaining fin brakes I guess to hold the train, since magnetic brakes cannot stop the train fully. So I thought I would let you know ;)

No. Raging Wolf Bobs is still running the trailered PTC trains it's always had.

I was wondering why Double Loop was closed Sat when I was there....I was a very sad NoLimitChic...Oh well I'll be back 1 or 2 more times this month and who knows how many in the months to come!

It's actually all part of a 25 year anniversary fix up required by the state. Apparently these measures are required for older coasters, but I'm not very familiar with the regulations.

I also overheard one of the Villian operators saying that they train where being modified so that the restraints would not have to be opened manually (by stepping on that little lever).

Double loop... *gag*...

How can you not like Double Loop? I respect everyone's opinion but I have to say that Double Loop is amazingly fun for such a small coaster. Very popular with kids moving from Roadrunner type coasters into bigger ones. It has no headbanging and pulls some wicked G's. I have started to black out in the back car pulling into the second loop. In the back it offers good airtime on the drops. It's historic too, the first double looper in the U.S.

Maintainence states that DL will not open until June.
Nice to know it's getting all fixed up, the paint job done 2 years ago was a great start. Now everyone says that it's getting new restraints which is very good since last year the purple train row 1-2 had a seat roped off all year. I also hope they oil that chain because the sqeaking was enough to drive anyone crazy in line.

Sorry, but aren't exclamation points reserved for things that are actually exciting?

The word "definitely" is definitely the most misspelled word on the buzz.

Model coasters and rides

Intamin Fan I HOPE you were not referring to me. It seem you were since I was the only one with an ! in a post before you.

Now I'm *usually* a pretty nice person...but you and SFDL_Dude REALLY p!ssed me off. WHY even post if you can't say something constructive? If you don't like a certain coaster FINE, then say "well I don't really like that coaster" you DON'T have to bash it just because it isn't a *B & M hyper flying twirling whatchamacallit* so it isn't the highest or the fastest or the scariest or the anything...it is STILL a GREAT coaster. So there!!!!!!!!! *LOOK more exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have only riden this coaster one time and I actually thought it was a pretty good Arrow. To tell you the truth, the two most painful Arrows I have ever rode were both at SFGAm(although I still really love the Demon). The double loop to me was a very nice ride that makes a great starter coaster for the younger ones or for someone who is a bit overwhelmed by the scarier rides and it makes a nice addition to a park that is filled with much bigger thrills.

Although I wont use exclamation points :) I will say that it is definately worth a ride if you get out to SFWOA.

Don't dog my Double Loop. There are a lot of other coasters I would skip before this one....ahem...Boomerang.
