As most of you know, Dorney got approval for a new inverted coaster. Also, some of you may have read it in the paper and it said the construction for it would begin Labor Day 2001...which meant it wouldn't be ready until the 2002 season. Well, here's some good news...I emailed Dorney last night about the coaster and they replied this morning saying the construction would begin Labor Day 2000 so it will be ready for the 2001 season. But sadly in the article on their website, it said the coaster would only have four inversions. But still I'm very happy that they are getting a new major coaster. With the addition with this coaster, it will bring their coaster line-up to 9.
Yes 9! that is if you count the kiddie coasters as well...Steel Force, Laser, Hercules, Thunderhawk, Little Laser, Dragon Coaster, Wild Mouse, Woodstock's Express, and the the new coaster. Here is the article from their website:
Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom will begin construction around Labor Day of 2000 on a new suspended roller coaster for the 2001 season.
Riders, who will be suspended below the track, will face a 135-foot tall lift hill and four inversions as they swoop through the area located between Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom.
Information about this brand new addition, including more details on the ride's design and manufacturer will follow in the coming weeks.
Do you know what Dorney Park is going to name their new inverted coaster? Also is it a B&M inverted coaster?

Thanks Dorney Junkie for letting me know about the date. When I read the newpaper I was dissapointed about it not being built this year...but i'm glad it was a misprint. The BEASTmaster, i'm fairly certain about the manufacturer being B&M. Cedar Fair does have a strong relationship with them, and I've heard about B&M being the manufacturer around the park. Well, I have to go to Dorney now in fact to get some more uniforms, and I want to see how the construction is coming.
