Dorney Park Meteor

For any one who went to dorney this past weekend...how was meteor? What happened with the large plot of land between steel force and the laser? And finally what were some of the noticeable changes?

Thanks in advance.

I was there on Sunday. Great day. Meteor is a very fun ride. It knocked Pendelum (SFGAdv's Huss Frisbee) off my top spot. One draw back was it had a lot of down time because of the shoulder harness sensors and large guests. The park looks super. The new stage near Dominator makes a big difference. It is very modern and has a lot of seating. They also installed a movable stage to the left of Hercules' entrance. Enterprise is now orange, red and Yellow. Sea Dragon is aqua with new dragon heads. The new Tilt-a-Whirl is great. It really spins a lot. And to answer your last question, nothing is built in that section next to SF. Just a unused grass parking lot.

Oh yea, Hercules has a lot of new track. Runs a lot smoother.

Does anyone have pictures of Meteor?

I think we will definatelyt see a small coaster in that spot in the next few years. Mabye an impulse.

I wish some people would get impulse coasters out of their heads.

Its not that their bad rides but whenever anyone ever talks about a park in the Cedar Fair chain talks about getting a new coaster it seems that impulse is the first thing out of their mouth.

To put this in perspective there were people that thought Worlds of Fun or Valleyfair would build a coaster just like Millenium Force for 2001 when the coaster was announced in 1999. Just a thought...

AAAAAACK!!!!

They Are...THEY ARE!!!! That would mean you'd spell it like They're, not Their! AAAAAAA!!!!!!

There, They're, and There...please, someone, can't the whole world just get it right?!

OK, now that I'm through ranting...You can see many pictures of Meteor. Just go to any Kennywood or SFMW site. Look up Aero 360 or Hammerhead, respectively, and boom, there's Meteor.

Having ridden Aero 360, I have to say that these rides are awesome. Not the best flat rides, but still, very very very fun.

Dorney has a new TiltaWhirl ? Somebody give us more information on this. Is it brand new from the company, or just bought from another park? Does it have any new features that speed it up, or is it just new or reconditioned ? I've always been a TiltaWhirl fan. When I was in high school back in Pittsburgh, we had a Physics Day at Kennywood which involved everyone choosing one ride, photographing and diagramming it, then going home and building a working scale model. I did the TiltaWhirl and have been interested in it ever since. Did you know it has its own website ?
I know it's the same thing a Aero 360. I wanted to see What it looks like at dorney and the theme, Not the Kennywood billboard.

Here is a drawing from Alex's Place. It looks just like this. Add orange, red, yellow and blue. This is all I could find. Hope this helps.

The Tilt-A-Whirl isn't new, it was just cleaned up and repainted, like several of their rides this year. They all look great. Here is a picture of Meteor.

The reason i mentioned impulse wqas because it is a very very small plot of land. That is the only type of coaster that could really fit there.

Actually the tilt-a-whirl is new. The old one was replaced and it sits in the exact same location. The new owner of the old one is a 50's themed restuarant with a Rock and roll mini-golf. I love having a Tilt-a-whirl only 1/2 a mile from my house.

Just one question. Who is th person bringing back all of thee old threads? Are you that bored?
Ok, I'm really sick of people saying "Search for the thread" but then if you actually search for one and bring it back, people ask you quesrions like that. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Sorry, I forgot they did announce the new Tilt-A-Whirl in a press release last year. It just didn't register since it is in the exact same place. I guess I'll have to go there tomorrow and give it another "whirl".
