Joe "no, I had no help in creating that element!" C.
The press release says:
"Hydra The Revenge will be Dorney Park's seventh roller coaster, joining the inverted Talon and 205-foot-tall Steel Force as one of the park's signature thrill rides."
7th coaster? What two did they quit counting as coasters?
Hydra
Talon
Steel Force
Laser
Thunderhawk
Wild Mouse
Woodstock's Express
Dragon Coaster
Little Laser
This thing looks cool. I'm gonna enjoy the hangtime in that inversion with the stupid name.

Two things that I noticed in the video:
-Is that really a dive-loop after the first drop? It looks more like a heavy overbank.
-The Cobra Roll is very "tilted" and stretched.
Is this possibly a distortion from the compressed video? I know that Badnitrus is very accurate (and just drop-dead-AMAZING!) with his recreations. So it is either my perception or the design is actually pretty innovative.
"JoJo Roll", sounds like some horrible EuroTrash record. When will we see the first "Maccarena Flip", or the "Bird dance Spin"?!
If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.
1. I would have put $20 on there not being a pre-lift inversion. Its one of those whacky things you put into your own coasters on RCT or No Limits but never really expect a park to do.
2. This looks to be one of the best first drops in the world, IMO. With the straight drop that I'd imagine will be pretty wild in the back, with the fast direction change at the bottom...its the sort of thing that B&M really accels at, I'm happy Dorney has really let them loose with this kinda thing.
3. The huge corkscrew - just another thing that you'd imagine would be possible someday that hasn't happened. Until this coaster, I mean. :)
4. Is it just me or does the Cobra Roll look different from other sit down cobra rolls? It looks more "flared" out if that makes sense. Almost like most of the inverted style, instead of the real square shape of the other sit down cobra rolls.
All in all I can't see how this won't be the best floorless in the world. Cedar Fair really has something with B&M...I don't know what it is but its like they bring out the best in eachother or something.
Very nice job Keith! With every animation you do, I have to fill up every crater that I leave on the floor from my jaw hitting it each time.
The layout looks amazing and I can't wait to ride it. So much for those folks that said B&M won't do low speed inversions.
I also think Dorney worded the "jojo roll' description very carefully as it truly is the world's first pre-lift inversion with a twist. Had they not thrown that "twist" mention than you can bet there would have been quite a few enthusiasts pointing out another coaster with a pre-lift inversion. However, that coaster isn't operational right now so I guess Dorney could have gotten away with saying..........WOAH! I am getting into this way too much. I need to stop. =:^)
-Sean (who is anxiously awaiting a few other announcements)
Anyone one their way to Malaysia?
It looks like a great ride, and I am jealous that Dorney got it instead of Cedar Point. ;)
I will have to make a trip out to PA next year for sure.
The website looks great, Cedar Fair!

I'd actually never seen this coaster, but it looks 100% amazing. In other news, yeah, I had forgotten about Red Devil. While technically a pre-lift inversion, it doesn't have exactly the same meaning as Hydra's, which is probably why I didn't think of it. *** Edited 9/14/2004 7:57:23 PM UTC by matt.***

I was just about to ask that question myself...should that even be counted as an inversion? It really does just look like a overly-overbanked turn, as it doesn't even look like you go upside down.
Either way, the coaster looks awesome, I can't wait to ride it next year!
Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger
