Back by the popular demand of Dorney Park guests...bumper cars! Just when you think you've got a clear path, BAM!--there's someone you didn't dodge. Get behind the wheel of this midway classic and take a crash course in family fun.

Kaleidoscope and Dodgem will make their debut in the spring, adding more thrills to your visit!

Kaleidoscope - Manufactured by HUSS, it is a circular ride with three arms of seven gondolas moving counterclockwise against the ride's main clockwise direction. Riders will experience weightlessness, strong accelerations, and side-to-side movement.

"We are always looking for ways to give our guests the 'best day' experience and the addition of these two new rides will complement our already impressive collection of family rides and slides," said Mike Fehnel, Vice President and General Manager of Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom. "We are particularly excited to announce the return of bumper cars, as our guests have been asking for this particular addition!"

Guests will be mesmerized as they witness the breathtaking stunts and aerial performances of Cirque Imagine – which is included in the price of admission to Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom! This thrilling 30-minute live show, perfect for families and guests of all ages, features acts including Trampolines, Cyr wheel, Aerialists, Hand Balancing and Bikes.

Adding these classic amusement park rides and an exciting live show will give guests more family entertainment options, but that's not all! A new dining experience will be available in the 2017 season. The addition of Parkside Pavilion will provide a catering facility for corporate, school, church and other group outings. Parkside Pavilion will have a chef's kitchen offering extensive new culinary options and will comfortably accommodate over 2,000 guests.

Good additions for Dorney. I remember a long time ago on my first visit (Mid 80s,) they had bumper cars, but I think they may have been removed before Cedar Fair bought Dorney or shortly thereafter.

I was really disappointed when Cedar Fair took the arcade and rides that were built over Thunderhawk's track and removed the building.

Those lame bumper cars(if you can call them that,) down by the go kart track can be removed now for something else. They may have already been. It's been a few years since I've been.

The crazy cars were removed all the way back in 2009 to make way for Demon Drop. Speaking of the go karts, they have not been used for a few seasons now.

I'm confused about where the third troika is from and where the breakdance is going (unless I missed something at some point). In any case, Dorney's troika is going on the "main midway"...not sure what that means the whole park is a midway. Is it taking the screamin swing's spot? Where are the bumper cars going?

Troika in Screaming Swing's spot next to Coasters restaurant. Bumper cars in Hang Time's spot near Talon entrance.

I'm still getting over the loss of Hang Time. Dorney has a lot of great flat rides, but top spins are always my favorites. And this one ran a good program too.

The Troika is part of what CF bought on their European shopping trip. From what I've heard they did pretty good rounding up some classic spectaculars. You learn from your mistakes, they should have taken better care of the ones they had bought new,,,,,,

Dorney wasn't acquired by CF until 1992, and a large proportion of their current flats were in place before then.

Not a huge fan of Troikas (the one at CP was very creaky and it made me nervous), but I absolutely love the lighting package they're putting on Dorney's version. Along with the Ferris wheel's new lighting, they've really made some beautiful night spectacles.

We're gonna quarrel about those LED lights, girl. KI ruined their Troika and now their Scrambler with those garish, headache inducing things! :)

(Look for a PM from me, k?)

And I think the Cedar Fair parks, in general, are lacking in quality flats. What I find disappointing in this round-up of used rides is things like Troikas and Himalayas. Europe is chock full of incredible flat rides that travel, the likes of which we don't see often in the America. Carowinds' Top Scan comes closest to real thrills from a flat.

Quoting m'self here.
And it seems Canada's Wonderland, King of All Rides that are Flat, has announced a fabulous new flat to the arsenal. (Am I using 'arsenal' correctly?)

Anyway, behold Soaring Timbers, a Mondial Inferno, a ride we've never seen in the US. In Europe it travels under the name Air Wolf or Night Fly. Mondial also makes a similar ride, Intoxx, with suspended gondolas instead. The both look like they would be a blast.

It looks not to be one of the rides scouted for by CF but perhaps a new build. With the Timbers theme (every good CF park needs a Timber Something it seems) a lot of the flash is gone.
