Dorney Park & Morey's Piers Questions

With me only working half days on Fridays over the summer, and my wife having off on Fridays, we were talking about visiting Dorney Park on Friday, July 27. What kind of lines can be expected on a Friday afternoon / evening?

Next week we both have off on Thursday and Friday and are going to Wildwood. Same question, what kind of crowds can be expected at Morey's Piers? Also, is it worth buying the 3 day "pass" for the Piers?

Always a good idea to go on Friday nights not usually to crazy. Everyone leaves by 5pm usually. I suggest the pier pass. Get in as many as possible.

The crowds at Morey's are heavy but,the lines for the rides are pretty light. The most i have ever waited for a ride on the piers is 25 minutes.
It is definately worth the three day pass if you also enjoy waterparks and go karts. They give you 3 hours in the waterparks and if i remember correctly a pass for each of the go kart tracks.Considering the upcharges the major theme parks get from you for go karts and waterparks this is a great deal :).I always have a great time there and never feel like i didn't get my moneys worth.Have fun! As far as Dorney,i can't comment because,i have only been there one time.

Dorney was uncrowded because everyone was in the waterpark for most of the day. Things got a little bit more crowded as the tempatures cooled off. I think you'll find average, tolerable crowds.

Regarding Dorney, I have been to the park twice this year, both times on Saturdays, and even though the parking lots were jammed, the lines for the rides were fairly light. Both times, the line for Talon was between 30 and 40 minutes, with the rest of the coasters having no more than a 5 to 10 minute wait. I can imagine the lines will be even shorter on a Friday, unless of course the park only runs one train on the coasters (they were running all coasters to capacity when I was there, so I see no reason why they would do that unless the park was empty).

As for Morey's Piers, the most crowded days are Friday Saturday and Sunday, and even then, the lines are fairly short despite the fact that the boardwalk gets absolutely packed with people on the weekends. Usually during the afternoon, a second train is added to the coasters if it wasn't done at the start of the day, therefore lines are very short (sometimes walk-ons) up until after dinner. At night, the most I have ever waited was 15 minutes, and that was an isolated incident. The POP wristband is definitely the way to go, since riding each coaster once or twice with ride tickets will probably cost more.

Hope that helps... enjoy!
The rides at Morey's Pier are so expensive; it worked out about $5.60 for the Boomerang, and the same for Vekoma SLC - well I wouldn't give you a quarter to ride either of those!

The Great White was closed (ahhhhhhhhhhhhh), so I didn't bother going on anything! But I would suggest the 3 day pass otherwise you'll be paying through the nose!

If you haven't got any accommodation check out the Starlux - it's a bit expensive but it's really cool!

My experience of Dorney was that all the kiddies were in the water park which meant the lines were okay - but if it's not hot then you could have some long lines!

I actually kind of liked the boomerang and slc, i dunno, maybe i hit my head to hard, cause i know all boomerangs and slc's are the same. however, great white is better than those two:)
