Dorney Park - Numbers mean anything?

I kind of stumbled on to something when looking up dates of parks.

Cedar Fair is a hot topic and everyone is always curious as to what their next big move is.

I have learned that Dorney Park will celebrate their 120th anniversary in 2004. Could this mean something big?

I hope so. Even though I live in Ohio that would be cool to see something big.

Six Flags, the only chain of parks that can manage to have stacking with a one train operation.

I would guess something decent. THats still 2 years away though.

Everyone thought PKI would get somethin this year, their 30th anniversary. Tomb Raider isnt really what anyone as hoping for.

DLDude13 - so, you speak for everyone, huh? Perhaps Tomb Raider wasn't what YOU wanted, but I happen to think its a good addition to the park, and I know others who feel the same.

Numbers can mean what ever people want them to mean.

120th and 30th (as in the case of Dorney and PKI) are not what most would consider "Land Mark" years. I would consider land anniversary years to be:

5th, 10th, 25th, 50th, 75th, 100th, 125th, 150th, etc (in incrimetns of 25 years).

Kind of hard to take a post as objective if a park or coaster name is part of the "user name"

Mamoosh..... you know as well as i do, every year everyone has their fingers crossed that their home park will get a nice new coaster! Looks like PKI wont be getting one until 04.... or maybe even 05! Maybe they are saving for a big one.

SFGAm didn't get squat for their 25th anniversary.

Tuesday's Gone With The Wind.
Elijah Rock.
Is it written in the stars?
La Vie Boheme!!!

No matter the anniversary, I think DP will get something in 2004. Most likely an Intamin Rocket, well, hopefully.

DLDude - only those that are unrealistic get disappointed when they wish for new coasters year after year only to find their home park isn't getting one. Tomb Raider filled a niche for PKI as will the revamped dark ride for 2003. So what if PKI doesn't get a new coaster until 2004?

The park will get whatever the budget can afford. 2004 might be long enough to get a solid return on the Talon investment from last year, but only time will tell. BTW, Dorney is the only other CF park besides CP that has both a hyper and inverted as of right now. I think CF has large expectations for Dorney and will continue to improve it.

Moosh, i never said everyone got dissapointed. I said they crossed their fingers. I'm a coaster fan. Like coasters. Thats why i'm at COASTERbuzz.com. PKI did need a few flat rides, but that doesnt mean i cant cross my fingers. That doesnt mean most people dont. Before Tomb Raider was announces, everyone was talkin about coasters and stuff. We know PKI wont get a coasters in 2003, i didnt say that was a horrible thing!
