Don't feed the trolls

Sunday, December 31, 2000 8:56 PM
Just a friendly reminder...

I go off to sip the bubbly (yes, I know when to turn off the machine and enjoy real-life human interaction) and find all kinds of nonsense here.

If someone posts something stupid that serves no purpose other than to get a rise out of you, just ignore it. We'll delete it soon enough. Some morons like to irritate people, get booted off the site, then claim that someone has something against them because someone else differs in opinion. These are little kid games that I have no time for, don't intend to respond to, and will delete into the ether of missing database records. Most of our members are above this, thank God, but there are always a few out there who attempt to gain a little self-esteem by knowing they can irritate someone else.

Have an outstanding new year, and don't feed the trolls!

(Now if this damn monitor would just stay still so I can find the spell check button...)

Just wanted to bump this post up to the top of the heap. There seems to be an influx recently of trolling in the forums. Please ignore them, as they will eventually go away.

Now back to your regularly scheduled forum...

Does no one here read NEW threads started by Jeff? Read this:

Now, think about why I'm posting this message here and you will know what I'm talking about (no one reading new threads)

V2, Deja Vu... how can it be better? Add Viper! Oh, wait. It's already there!

Neil... You did the feeding. Bandwidth is paid for by advertising. The advertising depends on website hits. Do the math.

Peace and happy ridding. *** This post was edited by GW Bush on 4/25/2001. ***

I'll second that GW. Neil, I wrote you a bit of stuff in a post in the "Suggestions for Coasterbuzz" forum; I hope you read it. Somebody did because the thread is now closed (with no response...). And whoever it was didn't boot my account! Hats off to them...I expected to have my posting privelidges revoked for voicing my opinion as strongly as I did.

But Jeff (& moderators) it's sooooooo hard not to rip into ignorant people...especially the ones that love to hear themselves speak on and on...or the ones that love to supress opinions based on their own experiences with 6 coasters on their track record (I love those people). Can we verbally "tatoo" them?? Can we? Can we? LOL

Ok, I will just have to stay away from the TROLLS!

BTW: Reading coasterbuzz with a few "Killians" is a great way to bring on the new Coaster season...I Love It!!!! Jeff, is the "bubbly" tasting as good as it sounds?

Have a great new year Buzzers!!! I love you all. (Man, is that the beer talking...or what??)

There's nothing like a woodie... *** This post was edited by Woody on 4/26/2001. ***

I don't know... but I think that GW Bush has had some "Troll-Like" topics come up recently (need I really name them?)... so I wouldn't count you out of the race too, dude!!

As absurb as some of the topics are sometimes (in general to the "trolls")... you find that there are like sometimes up to 10 replys on them.
Kind of surprises me to a point...

But then again, that's just me.

That's all it is. I in no way, fed into trolls, I simply delete it. It has no place here.

GW: you kept posting the noise over and over and over (you even went as far as hiding your grievance in other thread topics.) This is exactly what Jeff does NOT want. Why couldn't you address this directly with me in an e-mail? I would have given you the benefit of the doubt of airing your frustrations directly with me, and I would have attempted to compromise with you. I am a fair person, even though I sometimes come off as being abrasive.

Again, maybe I came off as being too abrasive, and if I offended you, I apologize. Perhaps some of your comments were misconstrued. I was under the impression you were telling the moderators and webmaster how to do their job.

A quote from the FAQ statement:
"A true moderated forum isn't for everybody, and it takes some getting used to."

I know some of you are new around here. The way we moderate here has been the way we have been doing it since the birth of Coasterbuzz. Our mission is to foster the discussion of the topics that everyone comes here for (coasters and amusement parks) and not to make noise. Our committment to Jeff is just that... foster discussion, and eliminate the noise. And for that I do NOT apologize.

Let us now drop the subject and move on, ok? If you have further issues with this, e-mail me directly, as the forums are not the place to air out frustrations.

Closed topic.
