Dollywood's TT Still smooth?

OH MY GOD your not telling me the flagship park is better are you? Id never have guessed ;)

And as a born and raised PROUD East Tennessean, I take offence to your comment on the way we speak, down here we don't talk bad about people we don't know. Otherwise, we'd be slamming the Yankee Doodles and the 'Jeeeeersey' people.

It's Called "Southern Hospitality" and it makes all the difference in the world at a well ran park. *** Edited 8/20/2004 2:49:49 AM UTC by CoastermanX***

"I swear some of the words that east tennesseers make up (along with their speech habits) is more than this north midwestern boy can handle."

Is "tennesseers" a word? I've always thought it was Tennesseans. Maybe that's something north midwestern boys make up. I'm not sure.

Not B&M smooth, though.

Wow...your insight is shattering. I never would've believed it if I hadn't heard it right here. ;) *** Edited 8/20/2004 3:48:35 AM UTC by pete4winds***

Dead men don't ride roller coasters. http://www.petefourwinds.com
Fair enough thrillerman, I let you have that one. :p

CoastermanX, I'm not saying ALL Eastern Tennesseeans talk that way, as in Galveston the "language barrier" was not an issue, but then most of the people there were probably from up north (tourists). I just know a good portion of the people that were at DW last Saturday acted like "they ain't had no learnin' from no English class." I just think it is funny that we make fun of the way Arkansas acts, that is nothing to the way that these people were conducting themselves. Is this normal behavior for the GP at DW?

It's all said in good fun Swoosh...no problem. I'm a middle Tennessean anyway. Actually I find that type of talk at just about any park I've ever visited North South East and West. I used to think mullets were a Southern thing too, but man was I wrong.

What is the big problem with the DW tram-service? When I went this year, it wasn't that busy, they had like 3 generations of Trams running (the Chance ones being the nicest) and they had trams leaving for the stops about every 1 min, during the middle of the day. I thought it was almost Disney efficient.

Understood, and yes tram service is running horribly at that moment, due to the fact the old USH trams are being replaced by new Chance tramstars, they wont run the old ones hardly at all anymore.

Very Off-topic, but Dollywood is actually trying to sell the remaining old Universal Studios trams as well. Originally the park had 5 of the Universal trams. (They use to be 4 cars long, but at some point they were shortened to 3):

I believe only two of the Universal trams are still at Dollywood, and the skeletal remains of a 3rd are down at the far end of parking lot F/G.

I'm sure by the 2005 season Dollywood will have completely retired the 2 remaining USH trams and will only be using the new Chance Tramstars (4?) and the converted school busses. *** Edited 8/20/2004 6:44:31 AM UTC by Dukeis#1***

They should run an all Tramstar fleet. Those school busses are the crappiest thing I saw all day at that park. :) Do you mean that those busses are newer than the Universal trams?
I like the tramstars, major upgrade over the original No-Shock USH trams.

So someone is complaining about how people talk now? Maybe they thought you talked funny also.

Whatever happend to going to a park and having fun instead of going to a park to find faults and complain about it.

Hate to break this to you but Dollywood is not SDC. Each has their own charm that set them apart from each other.

Please see the other Dollywood post for most of your answers CoasterDave. However to answer you second question, after you have been to almost all of the parks in N.America you begin to see the park critically, and with myself (and the rest of the MiG Crew) being perfectionists we are always looking for something that could be made better to take the parks to the next level. IF that is something that is wrong and evil, then darn it I'm going to a very warm place. Also as stated numerous times, I am fully aware of DW not being SDC, please see the other post for more.

Actually, I would think so. The Universal Studios Hollywood trams were the original ones used on the backlot tour in 1962. :)

The busses arent much older. They do need an all Tramstar fleet IMO.
