Dollywood donates display steam engine in return for hurricane relief

Knoxville & Holston River Railroad approached Dollywood to acquire Engine 107 for proper preservation. The park agreed to give it to them in exchange for a donation to the Mountain Ways Foundation and its direct assistance of those affected by Hurricane Helene.

There they go again, making me feel warm fuzzies. Dollywood is a class act!


There is a Cedar Point link with that locomotive. It's last road was the Smokey Mountain RR. The Cedar Point & Lake Erie's first superintendent , Jack Foster, came from the Smokey Mountain R.R., and it's very likely he ran it before it was retired.
