Dollywood, Cheaper in the evening?

DW's Gold Pass is a great deal! Free Parking (which sits at $7 at the moment) 20% off food inside the park and 10% off Merchandise. FREE Admission to SDC and Whitewater and half off to CC. Also, you get deals in the area such as $5 off admission to Splash Country and 20% off admission to the Knoxville Zoo.

Well, due to time constraints, I can't go on Wed. Maybe monday. If not, now that I know the way, I'll try and hit DW in early fall...:) Wanna spend a day @ DW with me in Sept. Tina?;)

Monday/Wednesday...any day as long as you can get there, somehow. :-)

A DW trip in the fall sounds awesome. I will keep that in mind.

Fall is by far the best time to visit Dollywood. The park is absolutely beautiful when the trees start to turn. Plus if you visit in October, they'll be having the craft fair.

And of course, you'll have cooler temps, meaning some quicker rides on the coasters!

"Now Molly, you be careful. I've got a weak back!" "Weak back or not, Luther, here I come!"

That's when I do most of my travelling, in the Spring in Fall. :-D I love the cooler temps.

I can imagine how beautiful the Smokies are in the fall!

I hear Tina is cheaper in the evening...does that help, Clint? ;)

That's not true Moosh. My prices double in the evening. Just ask Scott. :-O Hee hee.

One of the reasons we close early is two years ago we stayed open till 10 for two weeks and everyone left around 8. The only discount (beside "after 3, next day free") is the coca-cola can.

Let the Thunder RROOLLLL!!!
The Thunderhead
The Wildest Ride in the Woods!

Well, if the park installed some Laser Spectacular and/or fireworks display during the Summer, the could retain guests after 8PM.

Just A suggestion maybe you could pass along, Char? ;)

Yeah...he told me you were charging $1.00 after 6pm ;)

That didn't include any ride tickets, Moosh, that was just the park entrance fee....or so Scott told me...;)

In the mountains, I notice I get tired MUCH earlier than normal (normal for ME, that is)....;) I can see where the park would likely be fairly empty after 8pm....of course, that's also when Thunderhead starts REALLY rollin'....;)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

coasterqueenTRN's avatar
That is just the price of the toll off the exit TO the park entrance! :-D

Thunderhead IS a *night* coaster by far.

Tina sez: That is just the price of the troll...

You work with a troll? Ewwww!

Maybe they could try 9/10pm closings only on Saturdays in July. (rather than weekdays) I'm sure there is enough people in the park on a summer Saturday to keep things going.

If the laser show from the survey is added, like CoastermanX said, the park will have to stay open until dark. 2006 looks to be a great season. :)

EDIT: Spelling tip from Impulse-ive. ;)

Weekdays at Dollywood - now meaner than ever!

Seriously though, Clint, keep me in the loop on those DW fall plans. I still don't have my fall trip planned out yet and a DW/PCar trip is one of my possibilities ... if Tina wouldn't mind another guest in the group =) *** Edited 7/16/2004 2:32:32 PM UTC by Impulse-ive***

Brett, Resident Launch Whore Anti-Enthusiast (the undiplomatic one)
Tell me bout it. Don't ever go to DW on weekends at all during the Summer. Unless you love kids running everywhere....

Some additions I noticed at my visit this last Monday: Thunderhead's queue is now covered and sports brand new mist fans. TH Gap has 2 mist towers that are constantly spraying, the area also has a new games booth on the walk up to the ride past the trestle.

Also, the trams and the train now sprt Thunderhead as being 'Voted the Number One Wooden Coaster in America!"--Where did this come from? I know it will be in the Top 5, possibly #1, but who has voted this early in the year? Or are they taking that from Godsey's report?

Cool, Brett & Tina in the fall. I'll let you both know:).
