I guess a trip to Dollywood is in order next year! That looks incredible...
This is the first bit of coaster related news in a long while to make me excited. I love Dollywood.
That ride is so sweet! Definitely making my trip down there next year, with stops on Lake Winny and SFOG...
Finally, a Euro-Fighter in the US...it's long overdue. Thanks Dollywood!
I think coy has the right idea. ;)
When's opening day?!
I think I'm with everyone else here when I say that this is a breath of fresh air. It's about time we got a Euro-Fighter in the US; let alone a very nicely themed Euro-Fighter with a nice layout.

The question is, should I make a third trip to Cedar Point next year, or my first to Dollywood? Unless Cedar Point unveils something remarkable, Dollywood has my ticket for next year. I'm still dying to ride Thunderhead after all the praise its gotten ;)

Looks like my vacation plans for next year are already forming.... Six Flags Over Georgia, Vision Land (or what ever it is calling itself now days), Lake Winnie, and a return visit to Dollywood!
Boy that looks super cool!
awesome! definately planning my 1st trip there
i need to get off dial up so i can see cool stuff like this, haha....still though, glad to hear its a euro fighter, thats awesome!! i still havnt made it to Dollywood yet, perhaps ill put it off another year :)
$17.5 million! Does anyone know how much Speed cost to build? Some expensive theming/effects planned for MM.

Gotta admit, my curiosity got the best of me regarding the $17.5M figure. I mean, I'm curious to begin with, hehe, but that sounded VERY high. So I put on my research hat and found information about cost on Gerstlauers to be surprisingly scarce. One thing I did find, Typhoon at....ummm, that park in Belgium... ;)

5M Euros, roughly $6.4M....and Typhoon has longer track length...

Perhaps Dollywood is pricing out the entire expansion for '07? Even for land prep, theming, special effects, landscaping afterward, etc., etc....that stil sounds VERY high to me.

Not to mention the rest of the "new for 2007" attractions yet to be announced ;)

^ I was kinda wondering if it wasn't the tally for ALL the expansion projects for '07, some unnamed as of yet....

I guess I got my answer without even asking my question... LOL!

I went to Dollywood in June and I saw a little bit of construction on the coaster behind Lumberjack Falls. There wasn't much going on at the time though. I could see more of the site when I was in line for Thunderhead (very very good coaster) and on Timber Tower. I would have to say Dollywood is doing very good lately and I don't mind at all goin there again next summer.
As Dolly always likes to say, "It costs a LOT to look this cheap!" ;)
