Just now on the Today Show, Willie Geist had a recently taped interview with Dolly. There was a little tour of some things at Dollywood, and a poolside conversation. They mentioned the resort for 2015, (Dolly said it would have a southern flair but be "real classy", and they showed a beautiful rendering) and that there would be a new coaster for 2014.
I can't think of a celebrity who I admire more. She's humble, genuine, gracious, and so nice. Whether you're a country music fan or not, it's hard not to love Dolly and, of course, Dollywood.
Dolly to invest $300 million over ten years. FireChaser Express will have a forward and backwards launch and have three, 14 passenger trains. DreamMore is a 300 room resort covering 100 acres.
Located 12 stories above the park’s Wilderness Pass area Express, the coaster will feature three 14-passenger trains with an hourly capacity of 750 riders
Uh oh! I'm going to go ahead and open this can of worms for a second. Where's the whining about capacity? Or, is this different because it isn't at a Six Flags?
In fairness, we've only known about this for minutes. There will be plenty of time for whining to commence.
Right, but I wanted to be able to quote myself in the future and say "look, I've been saying this all along."
It's called "pullin' a Gonch" (not to be confused with another activity of the same name that happens during twister.)

I didn't really think much of her until I visited the park and walked through her museum. I discovered how awesome she really is and now have an appreciation for her. She's pretty cool.

Key difference here is that wait times at Dollywood aren't nearly as much of an issue as they are at Six Flags (or Cedar Fair parks). Most of the time ride wait lines at Dollywood are all between 15-30 minutes even on busier days. At a Six Flags/Cedar Fair park you're incredibly lucky to find any larger coaster with less than a half hour wait on a busy day. Capacity matters significantly more at a park that has longer wait times for their coasters, which isn't generally the case at Dollywood.
The big question I have for Dollywood is when they'll add a significant attraction away from the alley between Thunderhead and Tennessee Tornado. I know they added Barnstormer outside of that zone but that doesn't draw nearly the lines now that it did its opening year.
The worlds first family launch coaster that goes forward and backward... which is one of the dumbest features to brag about. Details are scarce but it does look nice.

Lightweight. Quoting yourself from earlier in the day isn't impressive.
Give me a call when you're quoting things from 6, 7, 8 or more years ago, Junior.
(winky face)
Odd. I would have thought that had Dollywood needed a hotel, one would already have been built.

Just now occurred to me - Willie G. and Ann C. should put together a new coaster/politics show to be filmed on location at SFFT....
Announcing...."Coulter-Geist!"
^^Boo. In more ways than one. ;)
