There is some publicity to be had by hosting a coaster event. It amounts to free advertising for a new attraction ("Thousands of coaster enthusiasts converge on whoever's Kings Island for the new xyzzy ride! Film at eleven."), at least in the local area. From a marketing perspective, I'd prefer my audience of zealots to be cheering my new attraction. Much more likely to happen with a thrill ride than some other type.

And why does everyone want to take a chainsaw to Son of Beast, when it could just as easily be the world's tallest, fastest, only looping bonfire? :)

Well, I didn't say that the only reason for adding a ride would be ACE, and I didn't say it would be a coaster. However, if they were already planing on doing something, why not try to coordinate it for a year with an event that could give the park national, or even international recognition.

dollywood will bee getting a mine diver coaster called mysery mine ride, its going to be built behind the timber tower ride in the timber canyon area of the park, the highest drop is 121 ft. tall and plunges into complete darkness (the mine) from atop of a broken tressel sounds pretty cool to me.

Interesting discussion about '07 - especially from Coaster Craze. We will start a tease campaign on June 2nd and will make the official announcement tentatively on July 7th at the park.

It is the largest capital investment in the company's history and should raise a few industry eyebrows and turn a few heads.

As far as ACE - you will have to ask Carol what they plan. DW is always open if they want an event.
