Dollywood Additions

Is anything going to be happening next year or in the near future? Like the supposed new coaster thats supposed had came this year? I think they will be adding one soon, because they added a turnstile to the station on the Tn. Tornado and I dont think its for crowd control, hopefully to see how many people who come to Dollywood wants to ride coasters!Hopefully one will come soon!

No new Rides for 2003. Just a new festival to make the park evan More Crowded.

2003 is more than likely Slidewinder's last year, dew to attendance and insurance problems. I not sure if they'll put a coaster there or not.

Slidewinder is usually crowded when I've been. It's one of my all-time favorites....it's a very unique ride. That's dissapointing news to hear. Is that real news or just a rumor??

It would be called a Rumour and you should take it with a grain of salt and go on. If it is the last year than I am sure we will find out from the park in due time.
As I understand it, Silver Dollar City is making improvements to their version of the Slidewinder, and they have a history of doing similar things at both parks. Usually Silver Dollar City acts first, then Dollywood follows similarly a year or two later, so there could be work planned for the Slidewinder, and I think it is unlikely to leave soon.

Wilderness Waterboggan at SDC, Slidewinder's sister attraction, is getting all new tubing and I believe new boats. Slidewinder will hopefully get the rehab treatment in a year or two also.

I love the Slidewinder. It's a great water ride that really tosses you around and has speed at the same time.

Actually, its just a rumor. The only thing that makes it so strong is that Everybody is saying it. (But I 've Heard that 2000, 2001, and 2002 were its last years, and nothing happened.) They may just be Overhauling the ride lik epeople have previously said.

Dollywood's attendance was also rumord to be down this year, from the 2001 high of 2.5 million, so that may be the reason there not adding anything new.

It's odd they're not adding anything, cause they try to add something every year. Here comes another fetivial or crappy kiddie ride! Its like their obsessed with the things!

O well maybe something new in future years.

Actually Dollwood's water park, Splash country is adding an additional 2 acre area to its park costing around 1.5 million dollars. This will include an interactive Children's area and a waterslide complex.

From what I have heard from SDC, Inc. their attendance had an increase of around 1% at Dollywood and a 10% increase at Splash Country. So, the additions make sense.
