Dollywood will be operating virtually daily from March 8 until January 4 next year.
they are closed 9 Tuesdays and Thursdays in April, and 6 Tuesdays and Thursdays in late Aug/early Sept. Plus Thanksgiving day, Christmas Eve and Christmas. Only 18 days closed.
additionally, they have lengthened. They’re operating hours many days.
Dollywood right now is the gold standard on how to run a theme park. Obviously, it’s working because their attendance is increasing so they can increase their schedule.
in the meantime, Cedar, Fair/6 Flags are actively and consciously is chasing off customers with their current business plan. Their schedules are shrinking and their investments are sitting closed many days generating 0 revenue.
Let's start an entirely new, very necessary and original thread bitching about Six Flags and Cedar Fair, but call it "Dollywood 2024". Excellent bait-and-switch.

This really is a shame. Especially with those mild Lake Erie winters.
They are currently updating the Dolly area of the park, the museum, shop, and theatre are all due for rehab, also LR is getting a lift hill. In case anyone was wondering what will be new…
2022 Trips: WDW, Sea World San Diego & Orlando, CP, KI, BGW, Bay Beach, Canobie Lake, Universal Orlando
I can't wait for the Dollywood trip report when the weather was bad and they were closed.
They did close the gates for a bit last week due to forest fire issues.
Maybe that drops them to a silver standard park?
And no doubt running three parks with 3 water parks, and some aquariums in the middle of the country is the same as 27 parks and 15 waterparks, in 17 States, Canada, and Mexico.
I'm pretty sure Canada's Wonderland does bigger numbers and does so with the operating season it has in Toronto, not the middle of post-global warming Tennessee.

There's no way I'm paying to attend a park virtually. It's in-person or nothing for me.
Hi
Dollywood is a bit of a drive, going to be past mileage for an oil change when I arrive, think they would have an issue if I do it in the parking lot?

Cedar Fair stockholder? They have no business plan to actually grow their attendance. Just cost cutting to reduce attendance…..
BTW I became a master of bait and switch by watching how cedar fair does business
Fanboys LOVE a business that craps on employees and customers. As long as they have coasters

No. Your experiences are just not as universal as you seem to think they are.

We're gonna wait a few more minutes to see who joins
Nice to see I wasn’t the only one that had/has to hear this on a daily basis 🙄. Even worse, we are back in the office and are still having meetings through Teams. Not quite sure what the benefit of being there in person is, but hey, that’s why I don’t have a gilded corner office!
I'm remote4lyfe, but yeah, some folks still suck at it.
Like reading the room or projecting odd things on people for stating obvious general things. And I'm the one with autism (among others).
