Dollywood- 11/24

Associated parks:
None

Since my husband and I were in Tennessee for the long weekend, we decided to check out Dollywood. I know, not the best place for coaster riding but the location makes up for it. If you have never been to the Smokey Mountains, the area is breathtaking even at this time of year. This is a very slow paced enjoyable park. There were a lot of families there with grandparents in tow. Our time basically consisted of walking around and checking out the crafts and shops. There were about 6 different shows performing that day.
Now, of course, we had to ride Tennessee Tornando. This ride was a walk-on all three times we rode it. This was a pretty smooth steel looper. I especially liked the dip into the tunnel. Unfortunately, Blazing Fury was closed for the season.
Even though we rode only one coaster, our trip was very relaxing and a nice break in the off-season.
I love Dollywood as well Mrs. Wiredog. The beautifully scenery and overall relaxed state of things just can't be beat. Did you get a chance to ride Thunder Road? Blazing Fury is really nice, and a true classic I enjoy riding over and over. Any signs on Thunder Eagle at Race World? Has it been torn down or still standing? Thanks and nice report.

What did Cedar Peter say to Island Merlin?

Flaggy Maggie ain't getting anywhere near my Peninsula!

Dollywood is beautiful, but my wife and I got bored quickly.  After two rides on TT, we walked around looking for other rides and couldn't find any that didn't get you wet, except for a mini-Ferris wheel and scrambler.  We left after an hour.

It's just not a park for a coaster enthusiast.

If you havent ridden Tenn Tornado, then you don't know what your missing. It is by far one of the best steel coasters in the world today. Its physical and smooth gives you great air and really gives you an intense ride.

By far one of the best and airy drops on any looping coaster today.
