Dogtown and Pacific Ocean Park

I was watching the tube the other night and watched a history of skateboarding. It was interesting to note that the modern style of skating started in the shadow of the wreckage of one of California's...this country's...the world's coolest parks. There was some great footage of surfers shooting between the piers of this place with the dilapidated pier in the background.

It reminded me of the Little Rascals episode where they ditch school and go to this park. There is great footage of them riding the Flying Circus.

Anyway, just thought I'd share this cool link with y'all. If I were to build a park, I'd draw inspiration from this place:

Cool site.

The film Dogtown and Z Boys has some footage that is similar too, if not the same as, what you are describing.

And to think if that amusement pier was still there I'd live about a mile from it. Dayum!
