does xflight run 3 trains at once ever?
I've been there three times and only once did they even run two trains.

No way! That Vekoma piece of junk, the Vekoma mechanics use the third train as a parts train. They take the part off of the third train and use them on the other two trains that breakdown daily. This ride is a piece of garbage and a nightmare to keep going. SFwoa Six Flags Waste Of an Afternoon! You will not see the three trains running at all this year! I think Vekoma included a Vekoma mechanic when they sold this ride to SFwoa! Evertime I was there this year, the Vekoma dude was there!

It's my understanding that the state hasn't authorized three train operation.

Ummmm, how CAN you run 3 trains? The ride isn't long enough. Basically, the rule in roillercoasters is that if you have three trains, the track has a mid-course brake run. I don't see any mid course brakes on any Vekomas. Maybe it is possible with the double station...but they never use it anyway!

Actually both stations were working last trip. Also , me and my friend see that Vekoma mechanic so much we decided to call him Ven. Next time someone recreates SFWoA in RCT they better include Ven and his buddies!

Actually last time I was there they WERE using the double station.

The double station gives them the advantage that effectively you have two-train operation even with three trains:

Left Station / Lift / Course / Back brakes

Right Station / Lift / Course / Back brakes

Now, this begs the question of what happens if/when the switching mechanism freezes mid-changeover. If that happens, then train-on-course (if there is one) will have to stop at the back brakes. Oops. ;)

Corkscrew @ CP has 3 trains due to the length of the break run as it itself is 2 blocks.

X-Flight has been using 2 trains and stations for a while now. I think its done with the 1 train Op.

Coaster131 - Your info may be true, but it is'nt true all the time, the only way a coaster can run 3+ trains without Mid Course Brakes is if the coaster has a double Station, An unload Station plus normal station, Or a second Lift Hill. X-Flight can Run 3 Trains because of the double Station, 2 Trains can be in the Station, and if needed, One Train can Rest on the Brakes at the end of the ride. Look at Space Mountain at DLP, It can run 5 Trains and was doing so when I went last year, yet it does have a fairly short Course.

Also, they are running both stations on X-Flight when I went, infact recently its been running with 2 trains non stop nearly all day for the last week or so, and The Big News is That they are finnally running the 3rd Train, but as of yet, havent run all 3 together, but its a good sign of things to come though. I am almost positive that soon, we should see 3 Train operation, but I still think it will take a bit more time.
