Does Six Flags Great America have a water park?

I am planning a trip this week to either PKI, Cedar Point or Six Flags. I know that PKI and CP have water parks but, I couln't find anything about a water park on the SFGA site. Do they have one or are there any other water parks between Ft. Wayne, Indiana and SFGA?

IF you are willing to drive about 3 hours into Wisconsin there are several good ones in Wisconsin Dells...Oh and if you do decide to go there please pay a visit to Big Chiefs Karts and Coasters. You will not be disappointed.

Welcome to Deja Vu...home of the world wide wait.
Acutually, Beast, both of thos are further than an hour's drive from GAm. I live in ELgin (by Dundee) and it's a good 1 1/2hr drive to Santa's Village and Rockford's a lot further (maybe another 1/2-3/4 hr)...

No, they don't. But I've been to Deep River Water Park, it's preety cool. Also, rumors are that SFGAm will be getting one in a few years. There is a big area cleared next to the employee parking lot. I know someone who lives in Gurnee. They tried to get the permission for a waterpark, but the town voted it down.

At one time, didn't Six Flags want to build a resort hotel/waterpark combo on the Gurnee Mills side of the expressway?
Splash Down Dunes in Porter, Indina is right on way from CP to SFGAm. Check out

I've heard things that they still are trying to build a resort on the other side of the highway. If my memory serves me correctly, a park manager or something at No-Coaster-Con, back in January, that SFGAm owns that land.

I'm afraid this gets my lowest rating ever. Seven thumbs up.
Not that I know of I never saw one there.

redman822,
I have actually made it to both places in about an hour (give or take 15 minutes and without breaking any laws) before. The amount of travel time to either waterpark depends on traffic mostly. An hour and half should be the most it takes to Rockford from Gurnee unless there is a huge amount of traffic.

slithernoggin and Coaster Xtreme,
Yes they do own the property on the other side of the expressway. Yes they intend to develop a resort with a waterpark on that property. They are currently waiting for the county to widen Washington Street (the road parallel to the American Eagle).

MFRULES,
Six Flags did get permission to build the proposed waterpark. As stated above it will be on land across the highway (I-94) on vacant land. The land near the employee lot (a hotbed lately for people thinking it may be the spot for next years addition to the park) is actually a buffer zone from the park to the homes on the north side of the park property. Some have stated that they are leveling it out. In actuality I believe that they are making the hill 10 feet higher which was part of the deal in being approved to build V2. This is to drown out some of the noise that would otherwise permeate the nearby homes.

TO EVERYONE INTERESTED,
Expect a Six Flags run waterpark to be built in Gurnee in the near future. But do not expect them to break ground until the county widens Washington Street. We may have one in about 2-5 years at best guess.

To avoid any traffic if you go from Gurnee to Rockford, just take 173 all the way in opposed to the expressway. We make it in about 1 1/4 hours, and there's hardely any traffic up there. Right after the interstate, just hang a left onto Perryville and cruise down to State street. Left onto State. Quick right onto Bell School and you should be at Magic Waters. Unless you decide to go elsewhere, which would make this whole direction writing thing useless. oh well.

SFGAm has been talking about a waterpark for YEARS!!! They've been wanting one for YEARS!!! They've been saying "Maybe in 5 years" for YEARS!!! AAAAHHHH!!!
No water park, but they have 4 water rides. The flumes are good, but both Roaring Rapids and Splashwater Falls will get you soaked. Roaring Rapids is one of the better raft rides I've ridden. Most of them are too tame.

Current favorite coasters:
Wooden: 1) Beast 2) Raven 3) Son of Beast 4) The Boss 5) Timber Wolf
Steel: 1) Raging Bull 2) Millennium Force 3) V2 4) Wild Thing 5) Mr. Freeze
Magic Waters has a water coaster that was installed last year if that matters to you.

And I agree that it takes 1 and a half hours tops to make it to SFGam from Rockford.
