Does Gemini exist.

I thought Gemini was a great ride. It was a lot of fun, and just a little rough on the drops. As for airtime yes I remember it having a lot, but it wasn't that float of your seat airtime it was the type where the train is being pulled from under you hit you upper legs into the lap bar type of airtime. I haven't rode it in over 3 seasons do they still race them? and are riders aloud to slap hands or is that dangerous? I know some other coasters do it, but I had no idea when I first rode Gemini that they did it there too.
That "jolt" that occurs as you enter the helix is the ride's one glaring flaw, as well as the only thing about the ride that absolutely screams "Arrow!"

Actually IMO the helix is a lot smoothr WITHOT the trim.

I hae gotten more trimless rides this year then trimmed. If i see the light on, I'm on.

If given the choice I'd choose a hamburger over a hotdog anyday of the week.

Rob, don't forget the feeling on the drops after the MCBR, they feel as if the train is accelerating with a motor... definitely Arrow! :) I like Gemini!

If I am correct Gemini has the highest capacity in the wrodl at 3,200!

Soggy, it's actually #4 on my top ten list. However, I'll agree that it's more of a "cult favorite" and it does get the respect it deserves. It's certainly not a world class ride, but I just love it and for an Arrow coaster, it's aged well. Just goes to show that a great maintenance policy goes a long way - I can only think of one other Arrow that's that old and still rides well and that's Space Mountain. Just about all of the Six Flags Arrow's are falling apart or have been removed.

If it was possible to list Gemini as a wooden coaster, I think you'd see it listed high on the woodie chart, despite it's age (much like "The Beast" at PKI). The tubular steel track makes this masterpiece a steel coaster, so it is unfortunately overlooked. The past 15 years have produced some amazing steel coasters and the technological advancements seem to outshine Gemini's headchoppers, airtime, and quality racing effects for most voters in the steel category. I absolutely adore Gemini, and I normally prefer heavily themed or "terrain" coasters. Gemini is one of the few designs that you could plop down in any old parking lot and still have a great experience. Too bad Six Flags couldn't have purchased the rights from Cedar Fair and cloned this one like they did with Batman: The Ride. (Just kidding...)
I don't understand... I always thought that Gemini was highly-regarded. The way some of you talk, its like the coaster gets bashed all the time.

I think Gemini is a very respected ride. Although it doesn't have the "glamour" of the rides that make the list these days, it's still a very fun ride for both enthusiasts and newcomers. That first drop in the back seat is still an awesome element, and great surprise for anybody who's never experienced it.

"What are you, a dentist? Or a hippie? Or some kind of hippie dentist?" -strong bad

I like that fact that it doesn't really "stand out" among Cedar Point's coasters. It's one of those coasters no one will run to right at the beginning of the day, but at the same time no one will pass it up when walking by. It may look small compared to Dragster, but its unexpected smoothness, airtime, and short line make it one of the best coasters in the park.
It won't make anybody's top 50, but not due to it's age or lack of fun. In my opinion there are just too many coasters to choose from, (especially at CP), that it's gets forgotten/ignored. But it's a blast, a classic. By the way, in case anyone cares another good "steel/woodie" I rode recently was Twisted Twins (SFKK).
Looking at my ballot for Mitches poll last year, I am very surprised to zsee I put it at ninth. But then again I have ridden some amzing coasters this year.

Currently i woudl put it at abou 20th steel which woudl be about 35th overall. Its a great ride, but there is just so many amazing rides out there nowdays.

It seems it came in 75th on Mitches poll for last year which really sounds about right.

If I was part of a coaster, I would be an upstop pad on an Arrow Mine Train.
