Does Anyone Have VIP Issues?

Ok... I really decided to sit down & actually play the core of the game which is the senarios. I had enough fun with the sandbox mode, and I've been working my way through most of the senarios.

I've noticed that most of the goals were pretty easy, whether to get your park up to a certain value, repay the loan, or have coasters with a certain minimum/maximum value.

The part I've ran into the biggest problem is the VIP, and I'm hoping someone who's played thru all the senarios (with Tycoon achieved) can help me out on this...

...is there a way to definately please the VIP that visits the park? The one I've had the biggest pain in the arse with is Clint Bushton in Lala Land who wants to see a fireworks show. I've put up shows that go on while he visits, and still don't get credit for it. I map out a path that points him to one of the displays, but I still don't get credit for it... what will it take for the VIP to see the friggin' fireworks show?

Does anyone else have similar issues with the VIP's? I had one senario where she wanted to visit a coaster with a rating of at least 4 in excitement... I made 6 coasters with at least SIX in excitement... and she didn't want to ride any of them. Instead, rides a couple flat rides and leaves the park.

...is it working as intended to piss you off, is it a flaw in the game, or are they just really really picky VIP's??

Help! :)

Ok I havn't played all the way through, but there is a feature to guide them to the attraction or fireworks display. One suggestion is build a fireworks displaly and a square path around it, and have footprints for the VIP leading to the show, when he gets there launch a fireworks show! It seems reasonable, I need to try it myself, but I think It should work. let me know... I know thats how I got the VIP to visit my coaster and other attractions.

Make sure you have the latest patches. They make the VIP requirements easier to satisfy.

Regarding the fireworks and the VIP - this thread is useful.

Never had a problem until the themed one (like scenario 16) and Atari fixed the 'challenge' with a patch making it more reasonable to achieve.

I have no desire to go back and pump out the last couple boring scenarios. My limited patience with RCT is best spent making park that no one can run. :)

Yea, thanks... I kinda figured it out after reading a little on the Atari Forums...

...the stupid VIP's aren't as smart as the peeps, it seems... so you gotta tell it where to go with the little tracker. So I just put a fireworks show at the entrance to the La La Land, and had Clint Bushton stop at the one block looking right at the fireworks, and he... well, he thought it was boring (it was one of the pre-made ones)...

...to think, I got LaLa Land up to nearly 1,000,000 in park value... 15yrs in the making, and I try again with the tips, and it works right away... **sigh** that was a total waste of a whoole Saturday.

...the VIP's would be a little more fun if they kinda thought a little more for themselves and discovered the new rides instead of pointing them to it. I think her name is Kari Oki... or that blonde VIP... she seems to be as dumb as she looks as she doesn't like to ride much of anything unless you force her on.

...I just hope the new senarios in Soaked are a little more challenging (ok, a LOT more challenging) like the ol' days of RCT where you gotta build 10 coasters or something with a so&so rating.

Just like real VIP's, they want to be guided to everything.

Me? I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid.
