Do you think Theme park Bigshots read these forums

I often wondered how much input do the public have as far as choices about what kind a rides they think will attract people and coaster junkies like us! I wonder if there is a bigshot of any of these parks ever cruising these sites to see what we think.

"Lookout" it's NITROGIRL!!!
Of course! They're everywhere. :)
I know that higher up people at CP look at the GTTP forums.  I would'nt doubt it if people from other park chains or just parks pay attention to these types of forums for feedback and such.
I know some dedicated Kings Island folk care about the public, and this is a favorite of their info sites. LONG LIVE THE FLYING EAGLES!!!!

I know that SFMM actaully hires 2 people to search on the internet for rumors and stuff like that and look at these kinds of sites. They go over and look at our SFMMY2K board all the time where we post about rumors and all. They were wondering how we found out about X before it was announced. Funny thing is when I was waiting in line for Goliath and it was broken down one of the workers started talking to me and knew my s/n (magicmountainoverCP) from the SFMMY2K boards. So did about 20 other people in the park. It was very scary knowing that people read my opinions a lot. I have one of the highest post counts on those boards of around 2000.

It depends on you call big shots, but yes, a number of senior park managers and manufacturers read the site.

Over at the dctp, there are strong indications that the writers  of penny arcade and even indutry big shots liek yuji nak and yu suzuki read our little video game forum. and I am sure coaster buzz is  eveb better well known among internetters than the old segatech pages so undoubltly some suits at big park corps read thes epages or are made aware of some things discussed here at the least.

All at once the ghosts come back reeling you in now.

This is a long shot but...

Could this be why they turned down the trims on Mean Streak?

G.Bush:We will find those who did it, smoke them out of their holes, get them running, and bring them to justice.
I pray that I will never see a Six Flags Conneaut Lake

well if they do.thats good maybe thats why SFGAdv looked into giving robin the chiller lapbars? and trying to fix up there park a little?and maybe whatever we say might have some type of enflouences on next years atractions?
Ive had people from park ops and planning and devlopement talk to me at CP when I have my Coasterbuzz or GTTP shirt on. Trust me, their here.

Top 5
1.) Beast 2.) Phantom's Revenge 3.) SROS (SFDL) 4.) MF 5.) Alpengeist

I talked to a manager at SFA in 2000 who laughed with me about a standup rumor he had read on Thrillride. I'm sure some manager types do look at the various sites.

Remember the USA Today rule of thumb on posting - Posting to an internet forum is like posting an editorial in USA Today.: you don't know who or how many people are going to read it.

That being said, I think the question is not IF amusement parks read this and other related forums in an official capacity, but who and how often.

Consider - You're a market research department exec.  What if someone told you there was a source of guest feedback about your park.  Access to said feedback was free and annonymous. (Ya don't have to log in to READ the Forum).  Would you turn your back on it?

Say your a human resource/risk management official wanting to stealthly monitor what your staff is writing about your company?

Public relations official who wants to know what people are saying about the park?

Ride operations officials looking for constructive critism?

There are all sorts of valid reasons why parks would want to monitor this and other sites, I also think its twise to assume they do.  They probably won't tip their hand, even if you write the most scathing comment, the most outlandish lie, or even the most heart warming bit of praise, but they're here.

Now what I'm curious about is if any park out there has 'files' on any particular buzz'ers.

Oh God Yes! I found the hard way Tracey!

Of course this doesn't mean anything, CF just didn't like what I had to say. That's why now I just keep my big damn mouth shut. ;)

You'd be surprised at who is on the mailing list, or the people who say they visit the site. Sometimes it even scares me, however, maybe it makes you understand a little why I try to avoid senseless rumors. I don't want to lose that credibility.
