DO you remeber screamin demon?

i was wandering if any one remebers this ride and where it is now? i live in indiana and i here its at a small park around here but thats jus rumor? thanks J
I remember riding it vividly back in the late 70's and to mid 80's at Kings Island.

There is one like it at Fun Spot in Angola Indiana.

Screamin Demon was sold to Camden park in Hunington WV and operated in a red white and blue color scheme for a few seasons.

The coaster deteriorated very quickly without the necessary maintence and has sat for several seasons now unused and quite frankly a eyesore to park visitors. It is being DEMOLISHED as we post.

Chuck, Who says get over to Fun Spot and ride theirs as I believe it is one of only a handfull left of this ride. *** Edited 12/16/2004 8:12:46 PM UTC by Charles Nungester***

I never had a chance to ride it, but just want to agree with Chuck that they are wonderful rides that should be enjoyed while they are still operating. Sidewinder @ SFEG is my favorite coaster in the park. Now if they could only get rid of all of those darned stairs.

According to rcdb.com there are only 4 operating in the world (Afterburner @ Fun Spot, Sidewinder @ SFEG, Diamond Back @ Frontier City & Irn-bru Revolution @ BPB). It appears that two are still in storage and you have the SBNO in WV. While I've never personally seen the Camden Park shuttle, I've heard that it is in quite the state of disrepair. Does anybody know if it has any chance of a new life? Or is it beyond repair?

Camden Park took down the former Screamin Demon just a few weeks ago (or is in the process of taking it down right now), according to:

This is the same coaster that got stuck in a loop correct?

Thanks,
DMC

Crashmando-

I believe you may be thinking about Demon (an Arrow multi-looper) at SFGAm.

Perhaps the poster is referring to Screamin DELTA demon, as it was relocated to Old Indiana after Opryland shut down.

Anyway, I never rode it. Damn Gaylord.

Screamin' Demon, the one from PKI, and later Camden, is being dismantled for scrap....but on a positive note, I heard a rumor that the spare parts were being used to help in the dismantling of Shock/Wave...

Scrap metal, NOT the best use for an out-of-date coaster...

Sirocco (now Turbine) at Walibi Wavre (now Walibi Belgium) was the Schwarzkopf shuttle that got stuck in the loop.

More than one coaster has gotten stuck in a loop. I remember seeing the Demon at SFGAm on the news.

I haven't been by the park in ages so I am not sure if it's completely dismantled now or not. I am assuming it is by now.

I remember riding it as the Screamin Demon at PKI, as well as the Thunderbolt Express at Camden Park. Sadly, it has been a very nasty eye sore for the last several years since Camden closed it.

I have never seen a SBNO coaster look so bad. There were supports missing, or should I say literally falling apart. It was nasty-looking to say the least.

I am sad that the park (or anyone) never attempted to try to repair/save it but I am VERY releived that they decided to finally remove it.

THIS is one of the best King's Island historical photo sites I have ever seen. If you scroll down a tad you can see some GREAT photos of the Screamin Demon in it's prime at the park.

I remember riding Screamin' Demon. I also remember waiting in long lines on those stairs. I remember that the ride had to stop operation during Timberwolf concerts as it was too loud, and they (the concert promoters) did not want any "free" concert admissions.

I lost two sets of keys on Screamin' Demon and missed it badly when it left. Of course this was before I rode it's distant cousin (as in shuttle loop) Montazooma's Revenge ay KBF.

It was a shame to see (in pictures only) it rot away. However, it's time had come and gone.

KI had been a trailblazer (Demon, Beast, Bat, King Cobra) hopefully PKI will keep up the spirit. It looks that way so far (SOB, TR:TR, IJ).

The two that are currently in storage are SFA's python (sitting in pieces somewhere in between the picnic grounds & Batwing) & SFNE's Black widow.

IIRC BW was sent off to old indiana to join some of the other rides that were being kept there, but of course SF sold off the property to other concerns recently so who knows what become of BW & the other opryland/old indiana/SF rides that were being stored there.....they're all probably scrap metal in a salvage yard somewhere by now.

I remember seeing it, but I didn't ride it.

I went to a wedding reception at a place called Lake James in NE Indiana a couple of years ago. Imagine my surprise when I saw it was right across the road from Fun Spot (a place I didn't even know existed at the time). Seeing that Arrow shuttle took me back.

I rode the Screamin' Demon at PKI and when it was the Thunderbolt Express at Camden Park. It was the first coaster I ever rode that had a loop and the first I rode that went backwards. I did also manage to get one ride in on the ill-fated Bat. What an awesome looking coaster!

Yep, me too, during my first PKI visit.....1982. The Screamin Demon didn't scare me and neither did my one and only ride on The Bat. Actually, I don't remember much about The Bat. It must of been boring.

I do remember the Beast freakin me out though......my first *big* woody.
