Do you ever think you'll lose it?

Actually, I just consulted the driving schedule, and I'm scheduled to drive the night we go to drink. Gator has the wheel the next morning.

I haven't lost it. I do think that one of these days I will lose it in another way though. Im talking, going insane and maybe punching someone at the park or something.

Well if that's losing it, I do know someone who's lost it then. ;)

Dawn, who doesn't need to retailiate as long as Playa and Gator are around. Thanks guys. :)

I think being a coaster enthusiast sort of dulls some of the thrills. Enthusiasts know every coaster, everything about them, when they were made, when new ones are coming out, which ones are more thrilling, which one holds more records, etc. - it sort of kills some of the suspense and feeling of "not knowing what's going to happen next", or knowing what limits thrill parks and thrill rides can have...

I guarantee if I took a break from being an enthusiast for 5 years, and then came back, the thrill factor would be much higher. I'd be amazed at things at that point that enthusiasts would consider tame.

I'll have you know that I don't do that... normally.

It was dark, and it was a haunted house, and the guy grabbed me and.. I don't remember much after that.

Told ya, I don't do haunted houses!! ;)

I'm not an enthusiast. I just play one on message boards.

Did I say I was talking about YOU Brian? ;)

How quickly do you think can we throw together an impromptu haunted house in the Legend queue? ;)

'I want my two dollars!'

Well, being a young 13 years old, I'm happy to say that i havnt lost it yet! I have definately noticed that when I go to parks with my older brothers (19 &21 yrs old), I am the only one willing so stand in line for a new ride. I often hear the old "V2 looks so boring," and the "why wait and such a long line for a short ride?" I am willing to wait in line for any ride. :)
I wonder if it is a coincidence that I lost my thrill for amusement park rides the same time I lost....

...well, nevermind.

I'm starting to get that too. But then again my home park is six flags great america. I'm bored with the park. But yet when I went to mm, I didnt get bored. I think i'm jus bored with my home park. Gonna try to get to cedar point in june sometime. I jus hope I dont get bored with that park anytime soon. I'm sure I won't, going on millie and ttd.

I'm not bored at all with SFA this year. I'm just taking it easy, and riding Penguin's Blizzard River is just silly fun. It doesn't go 100mph, nor does it get you drenching wet, but it's still fun. It also doesn't hurt that they finally added a DDR machine.

If you have a problem with clones, the solution is real simple—Stop traveling.
I starated to "lose it" in 2001, when V2 opened at Great America. I remember being incredibly pumped to go the park in early May during the week. There were no lines whatsoever.

On that fateful day,Viper and RB, my two favorite coasters, bored the pants off of me, and I started to wonder,"What is going on here?"

I'm no longer "into" coasters enough to go to parks by myself. I went twice by myself last season and felt like a total loser and was really bored. For me, trips to parks are no longer about the rides but the company.

DV brought me back to the park last season, because it was a new thrill. It's still a relatively fresh thrill for me, which is why I'm so frustrated that it is down.

This year, I went to the park on opening weekend by myself, got my pass processed, and had planned to go on Superman. But I couldn't muster up an interest and just left without hitting any rides. Quite depressing actually. It's like a part of me is dying.

But sometimes, out of the blue, a ride on Bull or Viper will surprise me and give me the rush of old, which is why I keep going back.

I'm totally out of the coaster scene. I guess working at a park will do that to you. I don't care much about what's going on or what's around the corner. I just graduated college and I have other, bigger things to think about and look forward to.

Besides, coaster folks generally grind on me.

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

I've "lost it" several times, and I'm only 19!

I find that with me, I get excited in March when the season is getting ready to start, Fall in love with it on my annual trip (this year it was PKD and SFA) in May, start falling out in August and lose it till March again. Usually I bring new people out with me to keep my interest going.

Also, I agree with the people who say "two and out" or something to that affect. I've found that with Hypersonic, saying "I've done that" while showing Discovery Channel videos can be a bigger thrill than the actual ride.

im only 15...and i only goto like 3 parks a season...I don't think I'll be losing "it" for awhile.
Im 21 and im actually just getting into all the coaster enthusiast stuff. Ive been a fan of riding coasters as long as I realized having my eyes open was a lot less scarier than keeping them closed. Hopefully I'll have many years of enjoyment ahead of me.
