Do you enjoy the ride more . . .

. . . when you have a longer wait? Personally, I do. I usually try to get the most out of my ride when I have to wait for a long period of time, and I'd imagine more people would try to do that. The ride also sucks a lot more when you have to wait longer. Feels like you worked for your ride, eh?

Your ride experience is directly proportional to the time you wait (tm)

Ex. Waiting 2 hours for S:TE at SFMM, and thinking the ride absoloutly sucked. 1 year later, with 5 minute wait, I like the ride a LOT better. As for longer lines making it better? Now thats just crazy....

Thats why ERT is king for a good time, regardless of the ride =D

Well i waited like 20 mins for mind eraser at SFNE and it didnt make the ride more enjoyable!

Im the #1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!!These are my top 3 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone

Yeah, but that's an SLC. A wait of nothing wouldn't make one of those enjoyable. :p

Ready to spring into a new coaster season! :)

I think that if the wait for the ride is such that it pumps you up for the ride, then yes, a longer wait is better. but if you have a line that underground with no theming, I think that it just sucks.

The key here is that you *choose* what you wait in line for. If your stupid enough to wait 3 hours for Deja Vu, I really don't want to hear your complaints. However, waiting an hour for Legend at SRM is indeed a good thing. The anticipation, the shared experience and so forth, can make the ride all the more sweet. I will not wait more than an hour for anything anymore, anything beyond an hour seems a waste of time. **Example** I have not ridden X since February, and will not ride it again until Con.
they did an experiment on TV over here in england recently. they had some people watch the ride for an hour, and some people didnt see it. they then put them on the ride, and the ones that had been watching the ride enjoyed it more, so from that it seems that Qs are a good thing!!
Yeah. I hate waiting, but it pumps me up a lot!

It depends on the queue. If its a nice shaded line with a DJ, a train flying by every 2 minutes (Millennium Force), then I ussually dont mind at all.

I went to Sandusky, but there was no Callahan factory

I do agree somewhat. I think it has something to do with watching others who are experiencing the ride for the first time, and the anticipation. Like it or not, crowds do add to the park going experience. Just not when it's overly crowded.

The word "definitely" is definitely the most misspelled word on the buzz.
waiting in line is not fer me. I go to park to ride the coasters, not to ride the line ride.
I never complain about waiting. If I don't want to wait for something I get out of line (or don't enter it at all). Its not like someone is forcing me to wait. So whether its a 2 min. wait or a 2 hour wait, I enjoy the ride I'm waiting for- given that I've ridden it before, therefore I've made the decision to ride it again. If its my first time on a ride, it'll depend whether I like it or not- and that solely depends on the ride's performance and not wait time.

When I wait a long time, the ride seems so much more intense.
I think it really all depends. The queueing and the atmosphere can really effect your wait and ride experience. Millennium Force for example has a freakin flyby the queue area, which gets me pumped up like you wouldn't believe. Rides like Batman, Superman, Dueling Dragons, and Indiana Jones Adventure have incredible queues and can make the time fly by as well as get you pumped up for your ride. Really waiting in line is a necessary evil of any day at the park, unless you camp out. Usually I just suck it up, take in the queue and get ready to go nuts on the coaster man.

My home park(s) haven't exactly gone a huge arson of rides, but they sure can pull in crowds come summer. Over the past few months, I've been visiting them both a lot more than I usually would. I've been to them on totally deserted days, and days when the queues for rides reach over 3 hours.

Quite honestly, a day goes a lot smoother and more enjoyable for me if you spend a bit of time queuing. It gives you time to talk, relax, sit (stand) and watch the ride (if possible).

On days when there's no one there, I find you get through it all before lunch, and you sorta struggle to keep yourself amused. Especially when you were there just a few days ago.

There is one ride that seems to be more enjoyable if you don't queue, and that is Tower of Terror at Dreamworld (S:TE type ride). I don't know what it is exactly, it isn't the fact that it doesn't seem worth it queuing an hour for a 25 second ride. Actually, I'd queue for it just to get in the air conditioning. It is something psychological, something to do with the tension and fear and adrenalin, but I haven't worked it out yet. I just know that I feel more in heaven 380ft up, with my lapbar loose enough for me to be off the seat, if I've not queued at all rather than an hour or so.

A ride that I find is more worth while if you queue, is for some strange reason, Thunderbolt. Yes it is the roughest thing I've ever experienced and one of the most painful things I've forced myself through (I have taken numerous 12ft+ falls onto rock and bare dirt, been smashed into underwater reefs surfing and tossed over the handlebars of my bike onto sharp gravel dozens of times). But for some reason, its a better experience if I wait 20 or 30 mins than if I walk on (and less awkward than being the only person on the train, especially with the op still talking to me over the microphone :)).

Well, I've successfully incorporated Thunderbolt into yet another post, and used more brackets than your average essay (Cambridge style referencing).

DWeaver...I'm offended! Not really...;). But I was silly enough to wait about 1:15 for SFoG's Deja Vu...good ride, obviously did NOT get back in line, esp. with Viper a virtual walk-on and MindBender and GASM about 10-15 minute waits. But for a new ride, you're gonna wait extra. Even still, I make sure to get in one ride...
