Brakes on the lift? Neat idea! Most of the pinch-drive lifts I have seen use a worm gear on the drive wheels or a one-way overrunning clutch on the wheels so that the anti-rollback device is in the lifting mechanism rather than on the train. Of course, that proved to be a bit of a problem on
