Do carnival rides make you nervous?

I don't believe I have walked away from a carnival ride based solely on 'safety issues' or perceived safety issues. I am more likely to walk away due to the ecconomics of carnival rides. Around here, carnival rides have reached the $3.00/ride mark. I am unwilling to pay $3.00/ride when they bring the same ride package year after year. If I see some neat looking ride I have never ridden, I may take a spin on it, but, price is my main turn off for carnivals. I won't even get into the 'no single riders' thing that seems to be prevelant at carnivals. Of course around here most shows are run by Kissel Bros. whose equipment always seems to look in pretty good shape.

That said I am looking forward to seeing the midway at the Minnesota State Fair, I hear tale that it is the closest thing I will see to a European Festival without actually going to Europe. (The rides are all booked in as independant conessions, and they have rides that I'd never even HEARD of). The downside is that the rides are around that $3.00/ride range, but these are neat looking rides I'd never seen before.

If you believe everything you see on Dateline, then you are seriously warped. This is the same show that faked the explosion of trucks, and put a firecracker inside a pumpkin to show what would happen to a human head if it were shot by an AK-47.

Some AK47 bullets will blow up inside the body so that could happen. And do you think that the families on there crying cuz there loved one died is fake if so then you are warped. And if watched any of the shows on carnivals then you would see that they used hidden cameras ti get the information. You guys are ingnorant and not willing to hear both sides and that makes you warped.
They have one. A not so wild mouse. The upports sit on stacks of wood about 4 feet high.(SCARY)

The Ohio State Fair has a good display of rides. They have at least one coaster every year..............a few year back they had two. I feel pretty safe on them, I guess.

Bullets that blow up? We're not living in a science fiction novel. The producers were just disappointed because when you shoot a bullet into a pumpkin, all you get is a hole the size of a bullet. Not too impressive.

I will take your comment on how "ingnorant" I am into consideration. However, I am fully aware that the majority of the media is extremely liberal, and they portray things through tinted glasses. Don't believe everything you read/see/hear. I'm sure that if Dateline did a story telling us all how dangerous it was to sustain the G-forces on roller coasters, and they interviewed real live crying people, you'd denounce it.

My brother is a Navy Seal and he has showed me bullets that will exploded inside of bodies. You can also find info about bullets in Gun Magizines. And as far people crying these people were thrown out of the rides and cracked the skulls and died of swelling of the brain.

If you're referring to hollowpoints, that's one thing, but I have yet to see the bullet that will literally combust inside a body. And I'm an NRA member, so thanks for clueing me in about guns.

If you can find a link that proves me wrong, I'd be glad to read it.

Edit- The St. Petersburg Declaration of 1868 declared all use or manufacture of exploding or incendiary bullets to be illegal. This declaration was also reaffirmed by the Geneva Convention of 1977. This is now considered part of customary international law.

And besides, Dateline wasn't saying that there were exploding bullets, they were trying to falsify a video of standard projectile bullets fired from an assault rifle.

Sorry for the tangent.

You're entitled to your opinion. I, for example, think calling things stupid with no explanation or reasoning, is stupid.

Back to coasters...

Mark,

I know we are WAY off topic here, but explosive tipped bullets have been around at least since the Civil War.

Also, a Dum Dum or Mercury tipped bullet could cause a human head to explode re: 'Day of the Jackal'.
