I guess I am surprised (but not totally disappointed) by the band choice. They could have chosen a much "safer" rock band, but went with the Chili Peppers. Not my favorite band, but the whole concept sounds cool. Hopefully I'll go tomorrow evening and try both of them out.
Certain victory.
Should I make some smart-alecky comment about Space Mountain beng in the dark and Stevie Wonder being blind? No, that would be disrespectful - but Stevie would laugh... ;)

So starting tommorow for about three months, Disneyland's Space Mountain and DCA's California Screamin' will have new soundtracks based upon two songs by the Red Hot Chili Peppers (Space will play "Higher Ground" and Screamin' will have "Around the World"). Both tracks will be remixed to fit the twist and turns of the rides. Space Mountain will have a lot of new lighting effects to accompany the experience (think RnRC).I guess I am surprised (but not totally disappointed) by the band choice. Safer? Safer choice than Aerosmith....
Can't wait to see how they do this, just wish they would only do it at night or something so you can still experience the origional versions.
I think this might be cool. I'm a HUGE fan of the "new" DL space Mt. It's in my top 10 :) (If I had a one, that is!)

LOL, back in the day, LONG long time ago when dinosaurs roamed the Earth...RHCP got kicked off campus here at UF for..."inappropriate behavior".
Too rude for a college campus, later deemed "Disney-acceptable". Why do I believe that it's the TIMES that have changed moreso than the BAND? ;)

Real fun video though:

It's also a cover of a song by the Ohio Players, so that may have to do with it. *** Edited 1/3/2007 8:50:47 PM UTC by ApolloAndy***
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
It could be worse: They could be using Sammy Hagars: 55.

The song is one of my favorite Pepper songs. It ROCKS, what more can a person want? ;)

also, just about anything by AC/DC, but specifically back in black.

"... people keep on dying..." that's good to hear while on a coaster.
Well I think they chose the song for the rythm and arrangment and likely got a good deal on it because it is a cover so the Chilly Peppers actually get very little in royalties for it. And, unless you are a really big fan of the original version or have had to perform this song, very few people know what the lyrics are anyway. Although, the song is really about being reincarntated to have a second chance so anyone who is made uncomfortable by the "people, keep on dying" line take comfort in that.
Also, I would find it so trite and boring for a park to use "Love Roller Coaster" as a coaster soundtrack. That and Lunatic Calm's "Leave You Far Behind" would be too predictable although, the latter does rock.
