I was thinking, why do we need a special type of coaster to do 90 degree drops? Maybe a full train would pull too many G's? I do think that the look of the dive machines is very cool. But why can't you just make a 90 degree drop on a normal coaster? Any special reason? Or is it just for looks?
I think the idea of a dive machine is to give people scares by holding them over a verticle drop, this cannot be acheved though with a long train. So new train concepts had to be designed, giving passengers a front seat view where ever they sit.
Right, the main reason for the "special cars" is to give a LOT of people the "front seat view".
