Disturbing news at theme parks

I know this isnt coaster related or an upbeat topic but I was just watching Fox News in Chicago and I thought I would pass this on to parents who take there small children to theme parks. An investigation was done involving employees at SF Great America and SF Kentucky Kingdom molesting children while getting on to rides. The parks didnt inform the police even though they were aware of it. Both of these employees were ride operators. After hearing this please dont let your kids out of your sight when visiting a theme park. I have a 5 year daughter and this news is very disturbing to me.
This is to Jeff, if you feel this topic shouldnt be on your site then delete it. I posted it because I am a parent and I feel other parents should be aware of this.

It's an important story, but I hope it's true (I mean I wish it wasn't) because Fox news operations are notorious for sensationalizing things. The Cleveland Fox affiliate had a huge lead story about Cedar Point's Corkscrew "accident" when the chain broke. There was no "accident" in that case, as the anti-rollback did what it should. The only thing is that the chain piled up in front of the train and got the kids all greasy.

That aside, I think it's wise to be cautious, but not to generalize. Things like this are usually isolated incidents and not representative of what occurs throughout the industry. Some parks have better screening processes than others. I think Premier Parks's hiring generally sucks, and this falls in line with their general operating and safety policies.

yes, Jeff(i am back) and i agree about Premier Park's hiring. i also think that they need to screen people better. what a paradise for the pervs it must be...anyhoo, i have stopped watching Fox news. they are like the Chicago Scum(sun)Times..."hey!! slow news day!! make something up!!" and while i know this story is true and terrible, rest assured that this will NEVER happen at SFGAm again!! they are having too many OTHER problems and need to do all they can to get things right!!
