Distance from HW to SFKK?

Savaq said: The majority of Indiana though, matches Chicago in the summer and New York in the winter. Is that right?

By George, I think you've got it! But Holiday World's county is not in the majority in the winter...we're on Chicago time year-round.

I was wrong. There are three time zones in Indiana though, the link below has a map that shows how it works.....

Here is a page explaining it in detail:

Funny thing there Eric....that comes from IUPUI....for those of you that haven't *already* read the warning, I told you it WAS March and that you *would* be receiving updates on the NCAA tournament...

IUPUI *is* in the NCAA's...just not for long...;)

Louisville, OTOH, may be in for awhile, and might even get another banner to hang next to SFKK...

bill, trying desperately to bring it back to coasters...and failing...;)

Oh gator, there *WILL* be a banner hung in that state...even in a city that starts with an "L"...but that city will be LEXINGTON (Tubby Smith, you're my hero....)

lata, jeremy

wwho thinks RGW should get used to the letter "L" 'cause Florida is going to take one ;)

But hostyl, there are NO theme parks in Lexington. Besides, UK is the *easy* choice for the title, and I've been picking them since the first dismantling of the Gators....

We didn't stand a chance to win from the day Kwame Brown broke my heart...how's those bench minutes doin' for him...;) If it's an SEC team that wins, I'll try to be happy for them....unless by some FLUKE the Gators won it all....that'd be the next best thing to a trip to HW...:)

If you have a cell phone, it should automatically change time zones like my Verizon cell phone did.

If you have a problem with clones, the solution is real simple—Stop traveling.
Paula, I'm till I bit confused:

Oaky, HW: Central Time. IN: Eastern time, but without DST. So, HW lines up with Chi-town always, and with the rest of IN during the Summer. So far, so good.

But then you said that you don't observe DST at HW. That would mean that you become an hour behind Chicago, and remain an hour behind the rest of IN (which doesn't observe DST either, and would therefore remain the same, relatively, to HW).

What am I missing?

I used to be able to chant the alphabet soup involved in the explanation...but I'm not sure I can anymore.

It has something to do with us being on EST which is the same as CDST during the summer months. So even though technically we're on EST we just say CT, since we're on the same time as other states observing CT (even though it's technically CDST for them).

Got it? :)

Paula (not even sure if I've got it right...)

No, I'm afraid I still haven't quite got it...

Okay, you're in CT, right? Always the same a Chicago, same as the rest of IN in the Summer? But, in order for that to be true, than your clock have to change at some point. I mean, the clocks in Chicago change, the ones in IN don't. So, if you lose an hour in the Spring, and gain it back in the Fall, aren't you basically following DST? I mean, yes, you could say that you're on EST in the Summer, but since you're county is in the Central Time Zone, wouldn't it be "more correct" to say you're on DST?

Sorry to keep bothering you, but I'm somewhat anal about things like this...

I hear America screaming...

No, they are Eastern Standard Time as oppsed to Eastern Daylight Time.

IE Half the year they are the same as Chicago, and Half the time the same as New York.

I take advantage of this in the summer as I hop across the border to gain and hour riding afterburner in Angola or going shopping in Angola. I get there a half an hour before I leave.

But the thing is, there's a post up there somewhere that says HW is on Chicago time year-round, not just during the Summer. That's where I start to lose it...

This is beginning to sound like "Who's On First". When I'm in Indiana I usually look for a clock or ask since Hoosiers just can't seem to get together on this.

Actually, I got caught on this in Kentucky a couple years ago. I missed that if you drive due south from Louisville you go into the central time zone. I showed up an hour early for my tour at Mammouth Cave.

BTW the travel time from HW to SFKK is about 1:15.
