Disney's California Adventure??

My family is going out to California in August. We are going to SFMM of course but are thinking about going to the new Disney park. Has anyone been there? What do you think of it? Is it worth the money to go. We have been to Disneyland often before so were thinking about trying the new place. Thanks for your information!
i haven't heard many things about it, but i heard it's killer expensive. I think i'd go to KBF before i'd go to DCA, just my thought

I love Ceadr Point!!! M. Force is G R E A T!

PKI is cool too!!!!!
I've been there, was there in April. It's definately not an all-day park, but it does have it's strong points. The coaster is great, Soarin over California is a brilliant attraction, and the theming is not bad overall. In my opinion, Disney really picked the wrong theme for the park, but it works once you are inside. I think everyone should go there at least once, to experience it. There isn't much to do for little kids honestly, but teenagers and adults should like it pretty well. :)

V2, Medusa and Roar at Marine World: the best coasters in the west!
not worth the $43 (same as Disneyland) theres not nearly half the attractions at DCA as there is at DL..Should be $25-30 to get in.
I went there and thought it was cool. Now its better because they have the electrical parade.
The park really sucks even though they lowered prices to $ 33. The ppark is really a big food court with two rollercoasters and a turbo shot that really sucks. I'd say the best ride there was the "sun wheel"

I had a great time when I went in early May. No lines were logn (maybe 20 minutes tops). The food prices are a bit steep and the photo for California Screamin' (but then again the onride photo is super huge!) I had a great time at DCA!

Hello, My name is Dan and I'm a coasterholic.
I honestly don't think that it is worth visiting. Definetely visit Disneyland, but you may not make the best use of your time by visiting DCA. There is just not much to do there. It has its cool rides, (Grizzly River Run, Soarin Over California and California Screamin) but other than that the choices are very small. It has other average rides, but who wants to spend a day going on average rides.
If it were up to me, I would visit Knotts Berry Farm. It is certainly a much better value, and I think that it is a superior park as well. Good coasters, rides for kids (what DCA doesn't have), and many other great rides (Perilous Plunge, Log Ride).
Have fun on your vacation regardless of what you choose!

I had a day to spend at either California Adventure or Knott's and I chose Disney. The reason was because Knott's looked packed when I drove by, well the lots looked packed anyway. So I chose Disney because I heard that the crowds were light at DCA. Being alone made it even better. I was able to use the single rider line to get right on Soarin' Over California and Grizzly Rapids, and the Space Shot ride. I agree with what most of the others have said, but I love California Screamin'. It's such a wonderful coaster. You start out with an LIM launch from the waters surface and take off right up and over the first hill. Even with OTSR's, it's a smooth ride with some fun helixes, great bunny hops and a nice loop, not to mention a couple of great drops that pick you up gently out of your seat. Thrilling, not really, but great fun nonetheless.

You'd definately find more thrills at Knott's along with more rides, but sometimes there's just something about Disney and the atmosphere that you just have to go.
the park is pretty small and the only reason i would go there is to ride california screamin' and soarin' over california. the coaster (california screamin') was a big surprise to me. it's one of the most fun coasters out there. other than that, if you haven't been there then at least try it.
Considering you pay almost 10 bucks to see a 90 min. movie. I think DCA is worth it. It's a beautiful park and Soarin is epic! Besides that, the Electrical Parade is back. And just as good as ever.
