Disney's Animal Kingdom:Expedition Everest

I was just wondering when is this ride supposed to come out?And what type of ride is it supposed to be.It sounds like a pretty awsome ride to me.I've been to the park before and I went in June some time and where will they build the ride at?
It's scheduled to debut in the spring of 2006, but they hope for it to be ready by the fall of 2005.

It's a Vekoma-manufactured "family" roller coaster that features forward and backward travel in a full-circuit course. It's highest drop is rumored to be about 80', and it will reside in a mountain peak that is 199' tall. This is the same height as the Tower of Terror and 2' taller than Big Thunder Mountain Railroad's highest spire. It seems as if this mountain will occupy far more real estate.

It's based on a storyline that has part of a mountain expedition. We see Yeti.

Check www.screamscape.com for the best concept art and model photos I've seen.

ohhhh sounds awsome!can't wait to ride it.
Walt Disney World will finally have it's own Matterhorn, and Animal Kingdom will finally have a top-notch ride (the dinosaur one doesn't compare with indy jones at Disneyland). Although I'll probably not be near Florida any time soon.

Ha! Knowing the way Disney's been cutting things left and right lately, I wouldn't be surprised if ended up just being a 3-D Movie instead!

They didn't make any cuts on Mission: Space.

yeah they did wahoo skipper. Mission: Space as of right now was only going to be the first part of a huge expansion to the whole Mission Space theme.

...the part of the ride that brings you back to Earth fell victim to budget cuts :)

*Everything* falls victim to budget cuts.

Isn't that amazing? The rides are absolutely identical layout and ride vehicles.

It just proves a point that theming a good ride properly can make an amazing ride.

Dinosaur's Gilmanometer rating: 5/10
Indy's Gilmanometer rating: 9/10

And they're the same ride...
