Disney's 4-D software predicts scheduling problems in construction projects

A Disney software project that combines 3-D modeling and scheduling orchestrates the coordination of different contractors, including those for the new Expedition Everest. The product was used extensively in the construction of Disney's California Adventure and is being sold outside of the company. The software helps predict conflicts between different parts of the project and therefore prevents cost overruns.

As an engineering geek, this gives me chills! That's some cool stuff, and if nothing else, talking this over will help to stall my construction scheduling class for at least a good half hour! ;)
