Disneyland replaces hand stamps with photos

The longtime act of getting a hand stamp when exiting Disneyland has disappeared into yesterland. Disneyland Resort eliminated them Sunday, July 9, now taking a photo of everyone who enters the theme park with an admission ticket.

Well, it's a good thing that Disneyland has a core group of fans that are flexible and open to change. I bet they'll embrace this decision with open arms.

Oh dear, that stamp is a badge. It says "I went there today. And yesterday, and the day before..."

Is there some sort of California-specific reason they don't just go to WDW's biometric system? Does USH do the same thing as Universal Orlando, or do they also follow Disneyland's procedures? I feel like there has to be some wacky legal reason they haven't gone to biometrics, just like the wacky legal reason for cancer warnings for nearly everything.
