Disneyland employees protest continued state closure of theme parks

Fans, employees and others rallied outside Disneyland Saturday morning in hopes of pressuring state officials into reopening the theme park, which has been closed since March 14 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The rally comes weeks after Disney announced it would lay off 28,000 employees due in part to the unwillingness of Gov. Gavin Newson and other state officials to lift restrictions that would allow the park, and others across the state, to reopen.

To my amusement park workers in CA: Don't suffer in silence. Use your right to protest and keep doing it til we get the guidelines. You will get through it together.

After going to Epcot Saturday (a far larger park than Disneyland) I came to the conclusion I would not be interested in visiting Disney Studios or Magic Kingdom anytime soon. At 25% capacity the social distancing was still challenging at times. I can only imagine what Fantasyland would look like.

I feel horrible for amusement park workers but I see why government is still wanting to discourage large crowds.
